There was one really early exchange - might even have been first season - when John was trying a new bit of equipment and when Phil asked what it was and John explained, Phil said 'You're 'avin me on, that looks like something I'd 'ave in me bathroom and 'ang me towels on!'.

John had many rivals. I can remember on the Pickett Farm video when he was arguing with someone over where the centre of the house was going to be. "Not a. chance" I remember him saying before storming off to prove his point. Always laugh when him or Phil are riled up

I'd love to see a special titled "Stewart/John was right!" They get a lot of ribbing from the diggers, Stewart in particular, but his ideas from scanning the landscape do often come out as correct interpretations. Not always, but often!
