I love that he was such a good sport when it came to all the experimental stuff they did on Time Team. Honestly, he reminds me of my favorite archaeology professor in the 80’s here in The States, wild hair and all…though thankfully not the hot shorts! 🤣

The site remains a mystery. It is an immense monument and cannot possibly be a farmstead. The vast amount of human effort put into it tells me that the site was of great importance.

Ah…good program and I enjoyed it. But it’s not the entertaining program that the classic shows provided. Not exactly sure why! The new stuff is well done and interesting. But I think the snappy repartee is missing? Tony provided sharp comment that buffered the academic angles and pulled it all together! Don’t get me wrong. I applaud the new dig programs. Thank you!

I've watched & loved it for years. They show you all the stuff they see & all I see is a load of old rubble. That's why I was never an Archaeologist. I still love it, though.

Every time I see that beautiful gold coin from the moat, I imagine someone in a carriage or on horseback several centuries ago dropping it into the water and swearing a blue streak for the rest of their trip! "Stop the carriage, stop the carriage!" "We're not stopping the carriage -- next time, don't count your money on the road!" 🤣

Oh no is it cancelled?
@SchmorgusКүн бұрын
@@WhitneyDahlin The original show with the cast and crew, ended in 2014. Mainly because Mick Aston (original cast of Time Team, first called Time Signs, in 1988), passed away in 2013. _And with the original cast being above 70 years old, Sir Robinson reaching 80 in a couple of years._ Last season wasn't as popular, because of the less popular cast put in, so the TV show was cancelled. They have since half-heartedly revived it here on youtube, but the TV show Time Team is long gone. Tim Taylor, who is the original producer of the show, is still pulling the strings though :)

@@Schmorgus Thank you for your comprehensive reply 🙏

@@Schmorgus I think 'half-heartedly' is a bit uncharitable as it implies a lack of enthusiasm from the team. It's not the classic 'Time Team' of old but then neither were the early episodes which we don't get to see on this channel. I thought the Modbury episodes were getting there in terms of editing and style. I also like the shorter shows they put out on the 'Official' channel. To dig up a well worn cliche, Time Team is dead, long live Time Team. 🙂

WOTTA COINCIDENCE! Philippa Gregory is one of my favourite Female novelists. At this very moment, I'm reading for the 4th time Ms. Gregory's superb novel "THE CONSTANT PRINCESS" A beautifully done novelization of the Life of Catherine Of Aragon. It fills in the missing bits of that magnificent Queen's Life Story, *<and does so in an historically accurate way. If you enjoy a superbly-written English novel, I cannot recommend ""THE CONSTANT. PRINCESS" too much.

Every time I see one of these posts I think "Excellent! Something new from the vaults at last!" and then I'm rapidly disappointed. Strangely enough I KNOW all the full episodes exist and I've watched them all, more than once. So, for me, and probably for others, these repetitive segment-stitched videos are a bit naff.
