The hiding from wife 'bar phone rates' is a flash back to before everybody had sell phones. Wives looking for their husband would have to phone the bar phone which was behind the bar. It would have been well worth the $3 to have the bartender tell your wife on the phone that you had one drink (as promised) but left afterwards. For three bucks you could likely stay for another drink no matter how many you have actually had before then. Cell phones screwed that up major time.

Oh my gosh, these were brilliant. I loved all of them, but the Americans need to have an adult. No truer words were spoken. The way they act is such an embarrassment that if I go over I'm adopting an accent, so I can lie about were I'm from. Never seen such horrible people in action.
