This year's Game Awards wasn't that great, especially when they basically told everyone outside of celebrities to please hurry up with their giant prompter. Celebrities (and Kojima) got to speak way longer and used up more time than the actual game devs... you know, the whole point of the Game Awards. For me though, this game awards wasn't too much for me to be excited about. Was sad when Ben Starr didn't win best performance, but Neil Newbon was the only one in the list that could have realistically beat him. Though FF16 winning best music was good enough for me. Excited to see what SEGA pushes out with the remakes and whatever they're doing with the classics. Flute Guy is always a treat. Lastly, excited for the new Monster Hunter, even though it's in 2025.

They seriously did these game devs dirty during this year’s GAs. These devs busted their asses off working on these great games that were nominated and awarded at this year’s GAs and yet they were forced to rush on their heartfelt speeches on the amount of effort they put into creating this games because the management of this year’s GAs decided to spend more time on showcasing ads instead. That’s just downright disrespectful really, especially towards these devs.

No it got nerfed by leaning waaaaay to heavily on things BOTW did, where it should have tried to be more of its own. I don’t even mind some things (for example using the same overworld map, all the stuff they added to it made it feel fresh to explore for me) but in terms of story and overall structure it’s just the exact same. Go to the four places, help them with their problem, do shrines to gain power, find memories to learn what happened in the past. It’s the same thing just with a different story (a story that doesn’t work nearly as well with that structure).
