Honestly, Manny's overreactions and protectiveness make total sense. He's already been shown to have strong parental instincts, yeah, but also, he's already LOST a family; a child. He was helpless to save them. Now, he is going to do everything in his power to protect his family, even if it means he overreacts sometimes.

I still thoroughly enjoyed the next two movies as well (not a fan of Buck’s movie). The way Diego phrased his words came off that way. “I want to be on my own instead of following you & your family around, bc life would be boring with you.” I understand Manny’s viewpoint on it, but they were both wrong in some way.

Just free information here: Rudy is considerable as a Kaiju, being well over 100 feet in just height alone, his full proportions are 150ft (Height) and 375ft (Length), this measurement is backed up by the comparison of Manny to Rohan (The baby) in Ice Age 1 and Manny to Rudy in this movie (There is vast evidence suggesting Rohan was 2 years old and when you get the average height of a 2yro and add up that Manny is 9x taller than him and Rudy is 6x taller than Manny we get a height of 25.2ft for Manny and 150ft for Rudy then just use this height measurement to compare to Rudy’s body length)

"Were you killed?" "Sadly, yes. But I lived!" 🤣 funniest line in the whole franchise, makes me laugh hard every time I can definitely see where irritation at Sid comes from (I don't feel it myself, but I can see where it comes from), and while he did technically steal the eggs, the context of their discovery didn't paint a good image, considering underground ice-caves are not usually the ideal place to nest or incubate eggs, especially without any kind of nest to help keep them warm, and the prior call outs as to whether anyone else was down there were met with an echoing negative, so I can see where he genuinely thought he was saving abandoned eggs from a frozen fate (though I theorise the mother deliberately hid them there to protect them from threats like Rudy), even without his fears of being abandoned and forgotten by yet another family on a more upbeat note, in case you were wondering, Rudy is officially an albino Baryonyx, a 30(ish)ft Theropod discovered in England and the first Dinosaur confirmed to be partially piscivorous (fish-eating), except in this movie, compared to the mother T-Rex, Baryonyx seems to be scaled up to the comparative size (since all these Dinosaurs were at least double the size of their real-life counterparts) of it's nearly 50ft African cousin, Spinosaurus of Jurassic Park 3 fame, assumedly a way to have Spinosaurus in the film without actually having Spinosaurus in the film, but I personally don't mind, since Baryonyx is one of my all-time top favourite Dinosaurs

Hi Oscar! Just wanted to let you know that I love your videos. Don't know if you're into more historical movies, but if you'd ever want as really epic and edge-of-seat historical, swashbuckling movie to watch, I'd recommend The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) the one with Jim Caviezel and Guy Pearce. It's one of those movies with so many plot twists and character development and complexities, I'd love to see your take on it. It's more drama, more of a heavy watch, but it has some lighter moments, and it's truly epic. Based on the classic novel by Alexander Dumas, it's got some Three Musketeers, Zorro and Pirates of the Caribbean vibes, plus some incredible storytelling and characters. Would make an EPIC reaction video.

So there are 2 more movies that were made with Blue Sky studios, but when Disney purchased 20th Century Fox, they were the parent company to Blue Sky so Disney got the rights to Ice Age. They did make a movie but it was a spinoff, only released on Disney+, and a lot of the original cast didn't come back for it, and it didn't even have Scrat. However, back in November they confirmed an official Ice Age 6, and most of the original cast has been confirmed to be returning for that one (I think the voice actors for Crash and Eddie are the only ones not confirmed). It is currently planned to be released December 18th, 2026.

What is interesting: Ice Age is one of VERY FEW movies which are actually BETTER in Germany with German dub because Sid is voiced by a famous comedian here in Germany and his voice and personality fits absolutely perfectly for Sid. The only one that makes this hard is this one because on the English side Simon Pegg is perfect for Buck. I literally want to combine both versions because right now there are two great versions but together they could be amazing. Also, this one almost seems like Simon Pegg helped with writing the script with all the references it contains (I think that is not the case however) which is probably why it might be my favorite

Love your utter disgust with Sid’s behavior lol This is my second fave of the franchise (following the first) but Sid’s tendency to take what isn’t his or attempt to pass himself off as something else is definitely used to max effect here. In the first film he uses the baby in an attempt to woo two curvaceous sloths, and Manny directly intervened. I feel if Manny had taken the eggs away and returned them (as he did in the first film’s scene) things would have turned out alright. I like that you asked whether Sid actually loves the dino kids or if he just doesn’t want to be alone, especially considering it had been his idea to return the human baby. How do you go from reuniting a family to separating one, y’know?
