Hancocks rip off international customers with what they charge for shipping. Other companies like Missouri Quilts, EQuilter, Craft Connections etc. continue to ship to Australia at a reasonable rate but Hancocks, as well as Marshall Dry Goods, have chosen to use the most expensive way to ship overseas. It now works out to about USD100 for 9yds of fabric (OVER $11 FOR EVERY YARD YOU BUY)🤬 whereas the other shops I have mentioned ship the same 9yds for about $40. They arrive quickly as well, so it’s not the cost that dictates the speed. EQuilter is even cheaper - if you spend over $85 they cut the shipping cost to half. International shipping is free if you spend $100 at Craft Connections. If anyone else knows of online quilting stores that don’t deliberately rip off international customers, please post the details. We have very few quilting shops here and love to buy from the US!

Connecting Threads has fabulous sales. I just purchased 11 yards of coordinates, plus 2, 3 yard cuts of 108 for about $56. $3.50 / yard plus $10.50/ yard for the 108. Shipping $7. And it isn’t the first time.

I didn't realize you made the Quilter's Slidelock rulers! I have two older ones that are clear see through. I really do love them as they have saved my fingers. I also enjoy cutting from the other side as I feel it helps keep my mind sharp that I can do this. As far a fabric, I only buy quality name brands as I don't want to waste my time with fabric that won't stand the test of time. Many small shops and online quilt shops have great sales. You have to be careful that you're getting 100% quality quilting cotton.

I wish we had some here in Australia! Most shops here sell the famous name fabrics, and we pay through the teeth. Postage and conversion prices are a killer. Have to resort to the Joanne type stores here and even they cost an arm and a leg. You’re very lucky, Fallon. ❤️🇦🇺

Thousands of Bolts is an online-only shop for quilting fabric. They charge as low as $5.39 a yard and carry all the well-known brands. I've bought tons from them and have never had a problem. Both their service and their product are excellent.

Thanks for the info Fallon. I've been buying quilting supplis from TEMU because prices at regular quilt shops are way beyond what I and my sister can afford on social security. They have a good selection and very low prices but no name brands. We'll being checking quality on our next quilt. It will be the first time we've tried their fabric. We'll let you know how it goes. The first four suggestions are part of my fabric shopping spots. The Lowe’s had me wondering. What,on earth, could be there! The drop cloth is such a great idea. So many suggestions! One more that I was thinking of was to use for pillow backing, or even using in quilt blocks themselves. Love your channel. Keep up your advice!

My favorites not already mentioned are Thousands of Bolts (online only) and Mulqueen's (online + local stores in Mesa AZ area). I agree, Green Fairy Quilts has great prices and then they have sales on top of that AND GFQ has the just released fabric for those prices. I also like Brooklyn Fabric Co in Brooklyn, IA. They have clearance fabrics and it shares my USPS hub so I get it sometimes the next day.

There aren't many quilt shops around me. There is one small fabric thrift store I go to at times. What stops me sometimes from ordering online is delivery methods. I live in an apartment complex, and most delivery companies do not deliver to my apartment door. My purchases have been stolen when left in a main office area I cannot access. I just order online now when delivery is done but the US postal service.

@@sewbeitquilts it's a shame that the delivery companies have their drivers on a timer. It takes them an extra 3 minutes or so to drive down the hill to find my apartment door, so they leave packages in a foyer near a "main entrance" that only a dozen people can access. I dropped Missouri Star Quilt Company and others because of this. Now Fat Quarter Shop is my go to shop. The USPS puts packages in my mailbox, our package box, or knocks on my door. They never leave a package outside to be stolen. I love FQS but I do miss sales from other online stores. I also gave up trying to get the newspaper or pizza delivered,lol. I leave explicit instructions, but most drivers just ignore them and use GPS only. Oh well. In the end it's just a small problem to have, really. And there's always Amazon drop boxes for other things.

I too love to quilt and the process. It gives me such a high to purchase beautiful fabric for a great price. Fat Quarter Shop is good but not cheap and the sales are few and far between, customer services is over the top amaing. . Hancocks of Paducah has some great prices. Fabric Shack ok. Whittles Fabric is amazing, the most expensive top quality fabrics are 6.50 a yard, however not a large selection but great prices on lots of stuff. Reproduction Fabrics has nice quilting fabrics. Used to be many more great ones but so many have closed.

I am moving out of state (Indiana to Florida) and have at least 20 large plastic bins of fabrics I'd love to consign to someone to sell in their online or storefront shop, but I don't know how to do that.
