i always liked mercedes and in the 80´s i found a lot opf people wanting to get rid of their old and excessivelly gasoline consumers, my first was a almost given 68 or 69 280S without headrests but looking new at the time was grey like today is fashion again(at the time ,all used to ask me "when do you finish painting it" as the protective coat(can´t remenber how it´s said in english as it was the same colour of the primary coat) and red interior in leather allthough at the time people prefered fake leather as it was incredible resistant, later bought a 350SE from 71 with very good look and blue metalized paint and headrests and alloy wheels, and a 73 220D w115(bigger body)that was very nice looking with alloy wheels that most of the cars have them equal from this period, now i have a lot of Mercedes cars only after the year 200 i could had bought some monthes ago for 2.000€ a S320 diesel in mint condition and all revisions done in Mercedes , the owner a constructer that bought it new in 2004 never had a single problem allthough i heard people critising theb car for not being so good as the before S -class cars that i have some and all coupés since 1965 ,280SC or similar and in the 80´s bought my father´s car a 500SEC all in black with a V8 engine ,in 94 i bought the 600SEC with a V12 engine, in 96 they started to call them CL600 also have the 90´s S-class diesel four doors and a 80´s S-class 550SE, in the 70´s i have a 73 500SE and as there was no big coupé allthough i have from diferent years three what today is called E-class coupés have a 450 SLC a SL with non removable hard top and four big seats also bought from Canada a w123 couopé 300CE turbo-disel as in europe only was available with gasoline engine, also from Canada a 300SD with north american finishings, but had already a 230C , also have a 95 3.L 24 valves C300 the w124 coupé, amongst others, also have a lot of BMW´s from the 70´s or late 60´s as some were ofered and others were sold by what today is 400 to 600 €, also have a lot of 70´s Alfa-Romeu´s and Lancia´s, for the same reason as in early 80´s chromed bumper cars were iold and plastic with foam bumpers was modern , mercedes used to be a car bought with assurance they will never go bad, today my collection and my father´s ,have 96 cars in agricultural warehouses well protected from the elements, as in the past warehouses were built as strong as houses, than i have others from several brands even some 12 american cars from 67 to 76 ,except my favorite while growing up the Cadillac coupe deville with big fins a 59 qnd a 65 corvette that i was told that when released it was the fastest car in the world in all my colection have maybe 5 cars with automatic gears, that are unsafe , i in the 70´s till 83 drove in r5ally competitions but my rallye car was always a Escort RS, a 1600 after a 200, also have a lot of fords from mid 60´s till late 80´s but mostly 70´s cars, i have a lot of 70´s cars as they were sold cheap the more power the engines had, as an example already in the 90´s went top see a BMW from 75 1502 ,i was asked what today is 2.000€ and i said ,No. Aftyer 1 month went to see a exactelly looking the same from 75 also, a 2002 4 barrel carburator ,restored totally in the late 80´s , he asked me 500€ in at the time money but when he went to my home he say in my stereo equipment a new three head cassette deck from Pioneer that had cost me as i am friend with the music store owner what today is 350€, he asked me if i trade the car with the 6 month old pioneer cassette deck, also with warranty yet to be stamped, as if i had a problem it would be sent with the stamp of two monthes of use, only and i trade it and by christmas there was a promotion from sony when they had three monidisc decks the midle one with a sony cassette deck ,simple that it had very lown quality but aceptable sound cost the same so that´s how i started to use minidiscs , there other story with the 1502 , in 74 the revolution of April who turned our country a democarttic one as the previous system was a very violent dictatorship with a police that tortured people and students , the reason why exists amnesty international as it were mostly French lawers that came to defend the students that had a very peacefull revolt in 1969 and were tortured as the girls were too with a non imaginable violence(as some were my cousins and since then they aren´t as they were) only similar to the catholic chrch in the last 2.000 years as in history no one remenbers that in 3rd century anno dominae, the roman emperor of the west , become pope to till 20th century control all countries in Europe , or ganised by the roman empire armed peace, one day entire christian families thrown to the lions and tigers left without food for a week, the next day b they were representants of our lord Jesus Christ on Earth or better say Europe, when i say ours i exclude me, as i read the bible including non catholic published salmes, as i studied historyb after electronics(didn´t end the 5 year degree and changed to new at the time Informatic 5 year degree on one of the best european technical universities, later as i had a very big library at home of historian writters in monarquie years ,later i finished my degree in history of the christian church, if there´s one are the Orthodox christian church as they become earlier ,christians(much earlier), all of this because i bought for what today is 400€ a mint BMW 1502 in the same year of the 2002 and because it was owned by a mechanic the car that was supposed to have 60 h.p. when measured had 90 h.p. as because of the revolution a socialist one, but democratic, the BMW factory in Portugal was taken by the workers as in all area´s of investment the workers took over the factory´s or agricultural fields ,only some that always helped their workers were protected by their hundreds of workers when the Comunist party wanted to take over their lands and houses, my great grandfather was one of them as when fathers bring they´re sons to work in vines or olivetrees or cereals to make bread ,he would sent all workers sons to be best paid internal schools with my uncles and father , the reason why they if the Comunist arrived wanting to take over they would intercept them in his favour if needed violence would happen .Weed was produced to make ropes and cloth with hard resistance like sales to boats, all of this to say that german BMW said if the workers ended up assembling the hundreds of bodies of `02 BMW´s,they after would offer the workers the factory that become a well fabicated factory of kitchen and bath room apleinces, in 75 they had bodies but no engines and they sent from germany engines and my 1502 instead of a 1500 engine had a 1600 engine with one carburator only the reason why they with a litle tunning from the mechanic had such a power and no cars from BMW had vibration in the engine not even when started cold. A German colector that was in south of portugal and notice my mint 1502 in 96 in a camping park he wanted the car, as he new the history and came to Portugal driving a 77 Opel Senator 3.0L engine(mint), what confused me was when arriving from the beach german kids asking me if it was really a BMW and i showed them inside that all was written in deutch language and even asked for some translations, it was a model well designed as it had only one light for all like close air intake when cold, a light off or overheated engine all a big round red light, and air outlets were hiden and only fourv well made controls in two inserted rectangles in brushed aluminium for all except the button 4 emergency lights and driven low to the ground one would seat next to the floor and pedals came from under ,so stretched legas driving and with good new made roads itr were incredible safe in tight turns, Sorry for the long coment i´m getting sick and i now wriite a lot drifting from the main topic, again sorry for that and my errors while writting it, hope you understand
