To be fair to The Clown those two tubes at 12:10 are meant to be like that, they’re breather pipes. I did exactly the same foam trick on the air filter vent after I went to clean the original one, it just disintegrated into powder! Quick tip, put/leave the plate with the intake trumpets on if you’re going to remove the carbs, saves a world of pain removing/replacing them. Don’t ask me how I know 😆

9:25 agree the fuel tap plus fuel gauge is a tad OTT but when my fuel gauge packed up, it was handy having the reserve on those odd occasions when I forgot to reset the trip to keep an eye on the mileage. And meant I could leave fixing the gauge til funds allowed.

That original foam disintegrates after 10 years! and the fuel tap cables bind (even when lubricated)making turning to off or reserve impossible! Good luck she deserves some TLC 👍

Yes, that pipe is awful. Stay tuned I have just purchased another 1993 RC36, which was initially for spares, but with low miles, and a sound base to build on, will more likely be the bike from which the 1st '91 donates to. I will try and get them Uploaded to my channel this week. Thanks, Deano.

Given the unknown status of this bike I would have pulled the carbs and rebuild them from scratch. Also, I would have checked valve clearances. If you don't, the next owner might call the previous owner a clown for not doing it... 🙂

If I had kept it ( realised the whole bike was plagued with issues) couldn't agree more. In the end, this one was only good for parts for a project worth while.

Hi Dean, have just bought a similar VFR also 31 years old with 63000 miles on the clock, also with 5 previous owners., love to compare what I find when the owner delivers it to me in Llandudno! Like you have bought it as a project at 72 years last was a Kawa Zx12r, What miles has yours done, please Robert😊

The white plastic covers are red coloured under the paint. Ist this common? Because I also have a white RC36, and the plastic is also red under the white pint. How comes?

Hello Well on the 1st "white" bike, it has been painted white, but originally was red. The previous owner had so many cracked and damaged panels, he had someone paint it. Problem is the paint is not great, and the damages, well let's just say there are a lot. I have repaired the cracks, and will show that in other videos. I am still unsure how the bike will finish colour scheme wise, really liked those RC30 type colours on 2nd, but all panels are smashed or cracked beyond repair. Stay tuned to see how the 2nd turns out. I guess your bike was Red too, what is on the original documents from new ?

M8 first thing you do before e you do anything to the bike is put it the main stand and disconnect the battery m8 remove it health and safety bud
