I have the exact same bike, the European site of richbit does a replacement for that sensor for about the same price but I’m impatient lol. I’m having to clean mine or salvage off a very old richbit bike I already have it’s annoying trying to get the righting electric fitting on the control box. As for the mallet and removal of gears just buy a cheap crank puller it takes literally 5 seconds of turning it.

I know , just never had one back then, and got on with it. Hey, it worked, what can I say, I am not proud of that, but at the time, it was a means to an end. 🤣

@ Ya having to make do and mend, finding that out too today. The ports corroded, and the old bikes salvageable sensor fell apart and to top it all I’ve lost my credit card to buy anything lol. On the bright side we go through all the things wrong, give it a good clean and service like I see yours was sparkling; and I’ve learnt something new (until can buy a new control box and Pas Disc) that the throttle can do more than walking speed :) well once I went through the settings to tweak it back to default. (Although I need to go test that idea out of my now messy kitchen.)

I now have a Carrera E Bike, been fine to some degree. Once rode it to work, and heard a pop, tried my best to solder a new capacitor into the control box, didn't work 😒 , so got a new conttol box, which was cheap via Aliexpress, but was not so straightforward. Always something to do ( love the challenge, sort of ! ) All has been good, until my motor felt seized and now have to take apart. Look out new KZbin video will be coming.....good Luck !

Hello, firstly, thanks for your support on my channel and videos, and secondly I hope you get some good info and tips from the YZF 750 ones. It was quite a while back now, but the same principle here on the mirror back plastic as with light lenses, simply cut back old tired plastic with a paste type cleaner, you can try toothpaste, I used a PVC cleaner, then use T Cut, then use a polish. If the plastic is too bad, on starting, use a courser paste, or wet and dry sand paper, working down in grades to wax polish. Good luck !

The reason your wheel is so dirty is because your using WD40 😅 yes it gets it clean but it also grabs hold of stuff for weeks after that’s why their so dirty.
@DeanAllenАй бұрын
Once used to clean, it is wiped off. So I guess what you are saying is, as long as you don't use WD 40, your wheels will stay clean anyway ?

Cheers TriAngles3D, thanks for that info. I am sure other Yamaha and other bike owners will find that helpful.
@TriAngles3D2 ай бұрын
Well done. Some info that may be helpful: 1. With exception to the removal of the old gasket, the gasket prep/ritual is for the most part not needed. Place the (dry) gasket over the dowels. If you feel better about adding oil/grease to the gasket surface then do so. Preferably place the gasket on the case side not the cover side otherwise you will be making it more difficult for yourself. Make sure you tighten the bolts in a cross pattern and all will be ok. 2. And, this is important: Place the friction plates in the new oil for a few hours or a day before installing.

Serious question - I have one of these I have built myself - nothing like as good a job as this one! I am still learning. My question is how does it handle? I am finding mine has a quite a twitchy front end - really notice any grooves in the road/white lines, etc? I have the same rear shock and standard forks with slightly heavier fork oil.
@DeanAllen4 ай бұрын
I found my 16v and now this 8 v handle surprisingly well. Obviously shedding all that weight, and having the alloy tank etc help immensely. I weigh 80kg, so never bothered to change the fork oil and kept it soft on the front. It soakes up the bumps nicely, not at all harsh initially my rear shock had too much preloaded, so backed off the spring. Now both front and rear are very nice. I don't want a sports bike here, I want a cruising, easy going ride, that handles well enough to be fun if I need it to be. Even my brakes are better than I thought they would be. I would say, if your front end is too harsh, drop the oil and come down on the weight, I.e if you have 10w try 7.5w, and be very mindful of the level ( air gap needed) Best of luck. Deano.

When I cut those bits off my K100 tank the seam did leak and I had to use liquid metal to seal it.
@DeanAllen4 ай бұрын
I have donevthis twice now, on K100 RS 16v and this 8v you need to get close with a dremmel type cutter but not to close. The key is to tidy it up, they did not take care with welding seams so I added filler in between weld bobbles rather than risk damaging the tank.
@witsend2364 ай бұрын
Look great. I am nearly there with a K1100LT conversion, with a candy red tank. I love the K100 Y wheels as the 1100 has the 3 spokes (which I'm not keen on) but has a wider back tyre so I kept them and had them power coated in black gold. I ditched the ABS and brakes are great now. Love your rear shock. I too ditched the airbox in favour of light weight intakes. I have both key and finger print ignition which is working great. I got some good ideas from you so many thanks. Hope you have lots of fun on this bike.

Did similar things with my very 1st project. The K100 RS 16v ( see other videos) as you say, not attractive wheels but more tyre choices. Look forward to you sharing the link to video of your 1100 when complete. Good Luck, enjoy the getting there, take your time, I know I did, too much !

Hi Deano, I got a 2020 crossrunner last year & changed the stock screen for the givi touring screen, it makes a big difference compared to the stock screen, but I have ran into a problem with the 5mm rubber well nuts which hold the screen onto the mounting plates, two out of the four well nuts have started to perish & the screen was rattling, so it looks like the added weight on the givi screen over the stock screen is a problem.

Hello Deano, I bought this seat unit from Cafe4racer, they are an EU based business so for me in U.K the import tax was not great, but a very good site (be careful I was like a kid in s candy store there) for all the bling and more. Just enter your type of BMW, then select what you want to get overly tempted by, in your case seats. I have finished my project now, although I have drive issues, clutch I believe. Once sorted I will be back to KZbin to add some nice photos and video. Thanks, other Deano

Hello You could try looping ( connecting a wire from one wire to the other) eliminating the switch, to see if brake light comes on all the time, which it should. Then you know for sure it is the switch and contacts in it, or wires to it. A switch should be very inexpensive. Good luck.

Not a Suzuki TLR, with the two scoops in the side fairing panels ? They would be tricky, but heat and practice will prevail in the end. It took me a lot of practice, but you aquire the skills as you keep trying. Good Luck, go for it !

It looks a lot easier on the Honda panel, other than the hole, give it some practice, it is very little cost. Just make sure every thing under is ultra smooth, as if you were preping for paint.
