Important note about getting polymer from penguins: It seems that on servers that stay online, the penguins will spawn over time on the icebergs, and along the tops of cliffs and beaches along the icy NorthWest coast of the mainland. On Single-Player, they spawn more quickly on the mainland, but often get eaten by predators. On the icebergs, I had to be in the area for a LONG time before they started spawning. I was probably out there for a total of an hour before they suddenly started appearing in huge numbers. If you're playing on single-player and you want to get tons of penguins, you might want to put down a bed there and sit on the icebergs for a while as you do other things until they start spawning.

I've been to all the icebergs and stayed around there for a maybe a hour. No penguins at all. The changed spawn according to reddit. The only spawn inland now. Unless it's a bug.

Thanks for the heads up! Penguins spawns were there about a week ago. There have been a lot of spawn changes in the past week, so we will have to keep an eye out to see if they make penguins spawn on the islands again.

I like clubbing those ducks for early Ghillie armour, tho I would use moschops and argentavis, I rarely see pelegornus being tamed, I personally like using them for fishing and poly farming back on the official servers

First time i went up to the snow to get some polymer from the penguins, i went to the ice bergs since they were crowded with penguins in ASE. To my surprise, I genuinely found no penguins at all on the ice bergs or on the snowy coast. At least now I kinda have an idea of where to look now so thanks a lot.

What do you mean by clubbing penguins? Should I loot them WITH A CLUB? Today i was killing some but im getting only 2-5 polymer per penguin :/

Just tame a decent level pelegornus and you get 40+ polymer for the little penguins and about 10 for the bigger ones

If you loot them with the club, it gets more polymer than most tools. The higher % the club, the better. Moschops and Pelagornis are more effective the more melee they have too.

I've been meaning to test it on those to see if it's also a good boost because those are all over the Southern beaches, and that would be a perfect solution for polymer if you live in the tropics and don't love making the trip to the arctic.

Additional advanced tip, eat rare flower to aggro the penguin so they dont run away.

That's a brilliant tip! It will make them all line up for you too! Just be careful because enough of them can add up to some real damage and I'd hate to add "mauled by penguins" to my list of worst ways to die in Ark ;)

For any singleplayers out there i was struggling to find them i then decided to fly out to the big iceberg in top left of the map and then still couldn't find any. I exited to main menu increased dino count to 2 and loaded back in. there were about 7 when i logged back in on the iceberg. not sure if it was the dino count increase or exiting on the iceberg and loading back in that did it for me.

There's a setting you can change on the screen before you select the map that lets you increase the amount of dinos that spawn all over the map.

The place you recommended to set up a base is where I set up my home. Getting a Pela mainly for fishing purposes but the polymer boost helps a lot.

Thanks for the heads up! They might have changed the spawns since last week when tons of penguins spawned at that location. We will have to keep an eye out to see if they change it back soon. There are a lot of spawn changes happening right now.

Apparently if you log out near the icebergs, they are supposed to have a better chance to spawn in penguins there.

Xbox edition - 2hrs searching and I saw 1 penguin. It was eaten straight away by a Yutyrannus!

Dude, there are barelly any penguin in ASA, Ark had a LOT in the icebergs, but ascended? nope, there are about 2 locations with about 6 or 7 and that is it, none of the icebergs have a single spawn... I even fount the fake penguins on the ice about as often as the original ones and that's not because they spawn often... Every other tip is fine, but penguins are almost stinct, not the best method at all anymore
