Since it's cut to perfection you have missed Amygdala's theme that shit from the middle onward is EPIC AF. You also missed Margit which is one of THE best themes in Elden Ring. It has a well established melody which in FromSoft games it's usually reserved for reawakenings or for characters that are still sane. Also should've left the whole of The First Hunter in. Some Soulsborne boss themes are made to raise your heartbeat and get your adrenaline going. It feels like going against a god and you have no chance of winning. Everytime I fight a boss with that kind of theme I can feel my heart beat all through my body. My veins burning, ignited with adrenaline, to raise my performance to the very best. To overcome the impossible. Those are just some though. There are also themes that make you sad for fighting the bosses. You can feel they have a reason to fight, other than rage, revenge or mindless slaughter. They stand tall in front of you to protect something dear. They are not your enemy, they are just in the way. They make you feel like youre the monster. That you would do anything to reach your goals, no matter who or what you have to get rid of. All this not just in the music, but also always supported by the way the boss fights, moves and even approaches. Cutscenes make a great foundation for the fight, but the fight itself is what lets you understand the boss better, if he is designed well. Its often said that fists can talk and thats exactly what it feels like. To fight these bosses you have to focus, you sometimes have to see the slightest move to realise where and when the attack is coming. You have to watch their every move and you will understand their way of fighting. A game that can give me these feelings, make me this focused, get me this invested in a fight. Its a masterpiece series.

Top 25 soulsborne OST(this is my opinion): 25. Maiden Astraea: This piece perfectly represents the feeling of mystery found in the fight, as well as adding a bit of urgency to it, as if you’re trying to kill Astraea before Garl kills you, or something like that, it represents the fight far better than its BluePoint counterpart, bonus points for not using those stupid trumpets, they sound unpleasant. 24. The Hunter: This piece starts off so slow, like the fight itself, initially gascoigne would get stuck on the gravestones, but in 2nd phase, the stuff hits the fan, the stones are now crumbling like glass, & gascoigne is moving faster, like the tempo of the song, as well as using more instruments, leaning more into the “do something before something else does you” concept in Astraea’s theme. 23. Artorias of the Abyss: I mistook this as the theme for a new area when I first heard it, it was so sad in a way, like I was doing something wrong, even though I wasn’t in game, so peaceful, so simple, & yet so intricate at the same time…I guess. 22. Fume Knight: This is the angriest music I’ve ever heard, like metal is clashing together, like the knight is hitting you really really hard, it’s all so intense through & through, like the hunter, but ramped up slightly. 21. The Mother of Fingers: It sounds so large, so grand at the beginning, & then slowly fades away into nothing by the end, like you’re taking on some eldritch horror & snuffing it out gradually. I love it for what it is, but it seems like what it is is half a song, I’d love if that style was carried over into her 2nd phase, using the lasers & stuff. 20. Soul of Cinder: This goes perfectly from the epic ballad of the beginning, using so many instruments & stuff, representing every lord of cinder there was, all the way to the singular composition back in Gwyn’s original theme; men do hath feelings. 19. Flamelurker(PS5): if it weren’t for the fact that it loses what the original composition was, this would be so much higher, although, even as it stands, it’s one of the few BluePoint tracks I’d listen to wilfully. 18. Great Grey Wolf Sif: I just can’t get enough of the intro, the fight is a very sad one, not only against an old ally, but a dog, & I feel like the music showcases it all so perfectly, it does feel a bit…episodic, I guess…for my tastes though. 17. Cleric Beast: The buildup to such an absolute monstrosit in the song, & then the 2nd one are just so great, & the way the theme just escalates more & more as you go on is a great display of the boss fights it’s attached to. 16. Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy: This is easily the most evil theme so far, starting off so corrupt & dying, as if the last of somebody’s innocence has been snuffed out, before going into the evil ballad of phase 2, it all sounds so heartless. 15. Deacons of the Deep: From one Blasphemous theme to another, the deacons has buildup burned into its brain; it’s so different from the rest of the DS3 soundtrack, also there’s an organ, I love organs! The liver sounds especially great in this one. 14. Bell Gargoyles: This one is just so intense, & has so many instruments, I keep finding new ones the more I listen, horns, harps, harpsichords, organs again! I love it! 13. Living Failures: This sounds like a far more cosmic & large entity than the actual fight, at least for phase 1, it’s like the theme of an alien army. Phase 2 however represents it so great, the music swells up so much as the meteors come down, you’re practically battling the literal universe here. 12. Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon: So magical & ethereal, it sounds like the theme of some grand librarian in phase 1, & then sounds like some kind of angel in phase 2, all so beautiful! 11. The First Hunter: It’s so sad, it starts off so depressing, & then gets more depressing, & then the choir hits, it’s practically sucking tears out of your eyes, you are sealing fates in this fight after all, one shall live, one shall survive. 10. Godskin Apostles: It all flows together so well, like a half-dance, half-fight…fight, it sounds perfect for the Godskin Apostle, in the dancing side, & the Noble in the fighting side. 9. Sir Alonne: Now we’re getting into the real stuff, Alonne’s theme sounds like an ancient warrior so perfectly, & it’s like the Bell Gargoyles with how many instruments it uses. 8. Ornstein & Smough: This is easily the 2nd best of the DS1 ost, half the instruments move fast like Ornstein, the other, slow like Smough. 7. The Owl: It starts off sounding like your typical Sekiro OST, then actually slows down & almost becomes a sad one, like you’re indeed biting the hand that fed you, in a way at least. 6. Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos: It nails the feeling of grandiose beings in such a great way, like you’re fighting a literal god. 5. Slave Knight Gael: It’s so slow & so sad in the beginning, & then gets faster in phase 2, like a rise into power of sorts, then sounds like the absolute ending of an era for Fromsoftware as a whole, this is the last you’ll see of dark souls(until now). 4. Bayle the Dread: A dragon destroying everything is all this piece is, & all it needed to be. 3. Gwyn, Lord of Cinder: This proves that you don’t need tons of instruments & production quality to make the greatest masterpiece of Dark Souls 1. 2. Lichdragon Fortissaxx: It clumps together all these instruments so well, you’d expect the millions of strings & brass at work to sound like garbage, but it just threads the needle so well, I love it to death(blight) (#1 isn’t actually #1, I ran out of numbers, so it goes into the negatives) 1. Dark Souls 3: this gets you so hyped for what’s to come in the 3rd installment, I can hardly contain myself talking about it. 0. The First Vicar: This takes Cleric Beast & ramps it up to an absolute masterpiece, I keep replaying the cello solo so much, also there’s an organ, so that automatically gives it a spot this high. -1. Pontiff Sulyvahn: It starts off so slow & peaceful like a fight against a pontiff, before then evolving into chaos as the music swells up more & more, phase 1 is like how you interpret him at first, & phase 2 is like what you learn about him. -2. Mohg, Lord of Blood: The Pontiff Sulyvahn of Elden Ring, except this time, it goes from lawful evil, to chaotic evil, as oppose to lawful neutral & chaotic evil, absolute cinema through & through. -3. Dancer of the Boreal Valley: It perfectly teeters on the line of horror & fantasy, building up from magical choirs, to udder chaos as the fight gets better & better. -4. Maliketh, the Black Blade: The first phase sounds so old, an ancient being, & then goes into the theme of a king of some sort, pure madness incarnate, but ear candy, nonetheless. -5. Messmer, the Impaler: This one teeters on the line of sad & epic, I can’t stop replaying the last chorus, it’s so good! (Okay, this next one is the actual end) -6. Ludwig, the Holy Blade: Okay, you knew it was coming, do I have to explain myself?

Mohg phase 1, sort of agree, there is “1” good part at 1:03 that I missed out on, Godskin phase 1 is mid, I think ik what you mean by “that part is twin princes phase 1” but I didn’t add it in bc it sounded weird when combined with the rest of the cut. Lich dragon Fortisaxx phase 1 is just worse than 2, and Rykards phase 1 (devouring serpent) is boring (imo)

I really think Laurence's theme is very underrated, since nobody speaks about it. Not only it has good instrumental and vocals, it also has latin lyrics! (Ludwig also has them) which talks about their respective lore or them overall. I think this aspect of both of their respective themes are unappreciated and should be talked more about.

@@ABYSYAL The fiction started off as a D&D campaign that could have lasted years. I really enjoyed writing it, so I frequently write more for it in the hopes of one day making something of it. In terms of Sister Friede, it has a lot of good musical moments overall, but it's all brought together by Ariandel himself. The moment when he says "When the ashes are two, a flame alighteth. Thou'rt ash and fire befits thee, of course," I get goosebumps, especially when the music flares and explodes in an instant, just like Friede does.
