I'm curious about real world usage. How does your experience between the two PC's stack up? Are you blown away by the upgrade? Or does it feel faster, but you cant notice the extra performance all that much? Your CPU should score higher in Cinebench. My 13900KF is undervolted and locked at 5.2/4.3 ratio, I score 38400, under 200W power draw. There is definitely something wrong with yours. I guess your CPU just transform too much watt into heat and throttle. You may want to tweak a thing or two if you are looking for multicore performance. I've seen 44K+ score on reddit with the KS.
@HendriuGaming Жыл бұрын
Could be throttling a little bit due to kraken - they are mediocre. Or even warped IHS due to LGA1700 ILM with 13900KS which in general run hotter than 13900K with same performance.

Only if you user error the cable and bend it too much or not seat the connection correctly.
@ShotByKorzy Жыл бұрын
@@ericmartens2322 my connector fried and i gave it plenty of space before the bend, its the poor design of the connector and wanting it to be "cleaner cabling" you simply cannot make an adapter like that and push 650+ watts thru that thing, it shouldve stayed at a normal pcie setup needing 3 8 pin cables, nothing was wrong with it.

Great video and great setup Chuck! What made you decide on this CPU / motherboard vs something like a Threadripper system that can go up to 64 cores? For rendering and anything requiring VM’s, Threadripper are the best there is (albeit at a cost. LOL). The only place they really fall behind comparable ‘desktop’ parts like the 5950x or 13900k is in gaming, but that doesn’t really seem like it’s part of your use case for this machine.
@joshhardin666 Жыл бұрын
I know that this message wasn't directed at me, but the currently available version of threadripper is based on AMD's zen3 architecture. They haven't released a new one in a loooong while. I suspect that by the time the new threadripper rolls in based on zen4, that the new zen5 cpus will be either out or close to it... the zen3 architecture isn't that great compared to what either amd or intel are coming out with, but there ARE still reasons threadripper is awesome... like memory bandwidth, number of memory controllers, and having lots and lots of pcie lanes for i/o devices... but when each of the cores has significantly lower ipc AND lower clocks, it's hard to suggest for a desktop system in 2023.
@fightingfalconfan Жыл бұрын
@@joshhardin666 If I am not mistaken...AMD axed Threadripper.
@CursedSenpai Жыл бұрын
@@fightingfalconfan No, AMD didn't axed Threadripper. Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series will probably be available in September this year, which would be based on Zen 4.
@joshhardin666 Жыл бұрын
@@fightingfalconfan threadripper pro 5000 wx series is the current version of threadripper, and publicly released roadmaps list zen4 based threadripper 7000 series being released in mid 2023. the code name for these chips is "storm peak" and there have been leaks saying that there will be an hedt version (non-pro) with 4 memory channels, 64 pcie lanes, 8 pcie gen3 lanes, and support for overclocking, as well as workstation (pro) chips with 8 channel memory, 128 pcie lanes, 8 pcie3 lanes, and no overclocking support... it exists, amd just isn't putting much effort into them because they'd rather sell millions of ryzen 9's or hundreds of thousands of epycs (for all the money) instead of hunderds of thousands of (still overpriced) significantly cheaper cpus.
