@@kawaiipotatoes7888 I understand the money is still a lot more in mlb, but I am more interested in the level of play. NBP values more base hitting than power hitting, and their overall pitching talent seems to be highly valued due to the amount of interest in mlb franchises routinely scouting NBP teams. My question is more of a curiosity if the Japanese fan base sees MLB as merely a payday as opposed to a real step up in play.

But if this is true why isn’t he winning the best pitcher in Japan award? Do you mean most talent or best now?
@jukucholove9 ай бұрын
That's because his team is (overly) protective about him, and tries very hard to avoid him getting injured. Whenever he has the slightest uncomfortable feeling in his body, the team doesn't allow him to pitch, and they let him pitch like only three games a month even when he is in good shape. In the next game of his perfect game, he pitched perfect again till 8th innings, but they made him leave the mound because number of pitch reached 100. And also, his body is not fully developed, he often gets minor injuries. So, he has never thrown enough innings to qualify for the award or the ERA title. Anyway, he is the most dominant pitcher in the Japanese baseball history. At least he is much better than Ohtani when he was in Japan.

First of all, he’s not the best prospect to ever come out of Japan. He still in Japan! Second of all, he’s hurt! Because the Japanese coaches don’t know how to use them correctly. Everybody knows his best pitch is the two seam fastball. But for some reason they try to get him to throw 50 to 60% sliders and 20 to 30% footballs. This has messed up his arm and now he’s hurt! It just shows you Japanese coaches don’t know what the hell they’re doing. You’re right this guy is, or could be, the best picture of the world has ever seen. But I don’t think he’ll survive the next couple of years in Japan.
