Btw Austin You said about best place to buy Rolex? I can tell about one of the WORST. As a warning ⛔️ to all, think twice before you buy anything on auction (Christie’s Sotheby’s etc) They have amazing watches but the trick is in fees. Just got Sub Hulk there. Amazing 🤩 just 22k CHF. Then you add fees, provisions, taxes, duties, VAT etc etc and you arrive at 30k easily. Finally you wish to have your watch on your hand so auction house offers you shipment for just 1000 EUR 😂 I am serious here. I took my own shipment 📦 company but still some costs (not all of them) surprised me

You're almost certainly going to get a legit piece, but I've always thought they had outrageous prices. Also, they often only deal in modern, newly-flipped, watches.

Though from your videos in Nakano, it is possible to get new models for a more reasonable price. I've been to one Don Quijote store in Osaka last year, and I don't recall there was much variety in models and dials compared to the ones you've shown in your videos

A YM would be pretty hard, if not impossible, to find at an AD here. You'd find plenty of them on the grey market, though, for a premium.

Nah, you have to be a tourist. I've always wondered what the shops would do if I handed them my passport. Even if it worked, and I got the tax off, I'd be looking over my shoulder for months after that. And I'm pretty sure someone would track me down eventually!

Good question! (I should have mentioned that in the video.) You can highlight the text and copy it (Ctrl + C), jump over to another window with Google Translate open, and paste it (Ctrl + V). Sometimes the translation is a little weird, but you can get the idea.

There's savings to be realized by purchasing in Japan, but what about when the purchaser goes back to his/her home country with the watch? The purchase value would definitely exceed the max. exemption allowed. For Canada, it's like $800

Austin, I still believe Hong Kong is best place to buy watches, in particular Rolex. There are over 70 dealers out there. Tokyo is good like in Nakano but the concentration of watch dealers in HK for a small city is difficult to beat. What do you think?

I've never checked out Hong Kong, but I imagine the selection is only one aspect. One of the things that makes Japan a nice place is the culture. The politeness, respect, and trustworthiness of the sellers can't be beat.
