This is beautiful. These are the cities I would LOVE to live. That's right, REAL cities. Not fake cities where they are sprawling and car-centric.

Such nice narrow streets like in Beacon Hill, Bay Village, and the North End in Boston. The town had a lot more before the madness of Urban Renewal such as the destruction of the West End, Scollay Square, and parts of Downtown Boston for Charles River Park, Government Center, and the original Central Artery which is now replaced.

The diversity of character with similar dimensions is one thing that is hard to create with master planned subdivisions, even if they use the same dimensions.

I don't know if it's your fault or anybody's but lately my mind has been 'convinced' that in less than three years I'm going to be living in Philadelphia, a city I've never been to. I'll need to live cheap, I'm on disability, can walk but with difficulty. (my mind's weird so pls don't ask:-/) *Question:* Is Philadelphia very hilly or is it mostly flat so that seniors and people with my condition can walk and bicycle around easy? Or it it somewhere in between?
@tealmer3528 Жыл бұрын
Except for Northwest Philly and parts of West Philly, it's an extremely flat city. Let me know if you have any more questions about living in Philly, coming from a 12-year center city resident!
@727Phoenix Жыл бұрын
Great to know thank you. I try not to let this distress me, the fact that I always need to walk my bicycle uphill here in Tahlequah OK. If it seems like I might actually relocate there, I'll look for you in my Philly subfile so I can ask more questions from a very reliable source thank you ;-)

Be careful with the parking signs, because the city itself takes the towed cars without any warning.

Looks like Europe, but why aren’t there any cars or bikes parked?
@MunichUWH Жыл бұрын
Well, if you parked a car there, the street would be blocked. I guess it's not allowed. Parked bicycles might create annoying obstacles for pedestrians, but some might fit. It's beautiful this way tough - no clutter, just trees.
