Great video! I highly recommend the choice of the train from Paris to staying in Bayeux. You can rent a car in Bayeux And drive all over the Peninsula. We visited every World War II site there was. Went to Mont Saint Michele As well. From Bayeux You can drive in any direction and be very close and not spend so much time traveling from place to place. It is more centralized.

Yes, renting a car from Bayeux makes so much sense. Happy travels to you!

Are places or restaurants still open at night or most of them close early? Thanks for the info.

they definitely close early and stop serving about one hour before closing

I was in Normandy in June. I really want to go back to France. I got sick my 2nd day in Paris, so I feel like I missed out. The Caen museum was amazing. You walk in, and that Spitfire aiming right at you would make any veteran jump. Part of the Caen Museum is a bunker Hitler had made for himself. One funny experience I did have in Caen was actually the only rude person that gave me any sort of problem. I was at the train station heading to Paris. He said "You Americans...you bring your war here, and we do not want any part of it!" I laughed at him, and said "Parlez-vous Allemonde? Non. Je sais. Albitezein (Do you speak German? No I know. Goodbye (in German). Told that story to a local in Paris later that day, and he said "Thank you very much for insulting that STUPID man!" I am just debating how to go again. I enjoyed driving, but when I go to Paris again, I would like to not rent a car, as it is a big expense.

Super helpful for my upcoming trip. Thank you. How many days would you recommend for Normandy if we had more time?

How much costed the menu,at Rouen?
@stephen10.2 ай бұрын
Here are recommendations for each price range: Affordable: " Un Grain de " offers a cozy atmosphere with classic French dishes near the Vieux-Marché area , ideal for lunch or a simple dinner (around €15-€25). Mid-range: " Tandem ' is known for modern French cuisine with seasonal ingredients, providing a refined yet relaxed experience for €30-€50. High-end: " La Couronne " , France's oldest inn, serves elegant, traditional Norman dishes with a rich history for €60-€80 or more.

On the vidéo at ROUEN , It is the restaurant / bistrot " Chez Pascaline " . The first price for a menu is 20 euros. There is a better menu for 30 euros. Higher price if you choose your own menu " à la carte " for almost 50 euros , you can choose between 15 starters, meals, desserts

@ great question. We only have tours from Paris at the moment. But if you need transport from Caen join the tour directly from the museum in the video. My family has done that and it’s awesome

This is camembert not "Camanber". I also recommend the other cheeses from there: Livarot (you mentionned), Neufchâtel (my preferred one) and Pont-L'évêque. I also recommend visiting the city of Le Havre which is an open museum of modern architecture and the coast from Honfleur (super cool little city to Villers-sur-Mer where a classic of French cinema was shot). Galettes are more from Britanny actually (but it has spread around)...regarding the battle of Normandie, I also recommend the Museum at Arromanches (Mulberry). Thank you for the tour! Very comprehensive!
