Pro Tip if you realized that you are uptiered, have a loadout with 3 missiles and 1 rocket pod, you can use the rocket pod as flares but it takes time getting used to. Also you don't have AB so rockets tend to get chased more than you think.

Use 2x RP rocket pods + 2x 1000 lb Bombs + 2x Red top. Fly directly towards the enemy base. Slow down a bit, fire your rockets. Drop your bomb. You get a base kill. Then continue straight because you will encounter enemy planes coming towards you in front of you. If you try to turn you will lose speed. You usually die in this situation. If you continue straight, they cannot catch you because they are slow and they slow down as they turn towards you. Then draw a big circle towards your teammates. Let the dog fights begin. Turn and launch your 2 missiles and resupply ammunition from your air base. At the end of the game you can choose the full 4x redtop. If the enemy is crowded, I usually go back to fighting with 4x Redtop. Or you can continue destroying the enemy base with the same equipment. The only dangerous enemy you may encounter is the F104 Starfighter. Others can't even catch up with you. By the way, Seavixen air brakes are one of the best aircraft. When you reach the bottom of the base, open the air brakes, rise vertically, start turning around 500km, open the flaps at 400km. Land at speeds of 350km. You can take off and land pretty fast.

1. Everyone is able to dodge the missile if they roll left for half a degree. 2. Almost everyone is able to outrun them since you need to shoot them off at ranges where people are unaware of you to not dodge them. 3. You need enemies that are completly unaware of everything, if that isn't given you'll do nothing in the whole match except being useless. 4. Bombing would make you more efficient than running with missiles. 5. You are being put in constant 9.7 uptiers.

I agree with everything except the 9.7 uptiers. I tended to get a lot of 9.3 uptiers, which is very annoying but still okay. 9.7 is rare though. Also, bombing is boring so I rarely do it, but I agree it might be more efficient.

From my personal experience I have to slightly disagree on the tails survivability. Whenever I get hit the chance that me elevator is completely disabled seem to be above average. but I agree on the wings, I have flown back to the base with 25% of my wing missing without too many problems

the sea vixen is all about positioning. people don't talk about the survivability of it because if you're in a position to get hit in this thing... you're not in a good position to get kills usually.

Everytime when i face it its really annoying. Its so fast u cant reach it with another subsonic plane on same BR. Always run away until they have enough space to turn and shoot while stay away from your guns. I dont use Planes with AA missiles and nothing has counter.

As someone who's played this aircraft religously I can't lie, when this thing get's damages its always just game for me, every gun that has hit me has hit my tail and instantly ripped it, and if not it'll hit my control, so I just basically hit the ground. Everything else though, you bascially become a demon, as much as Red Tops used to infuriate me, theyve really grown on me. This thing seems to be a nightmare to face when in tier, but up-tiers become slightly a no contest due to its lack of guns.

Gun or not, i grinded a lot of the tree with the Sea Vixen and its one of my favourite aircraft to play. Would absolutely recommend buying, definetly better than the F-4J UK. Only better British premium for fun is the Hunter FGA.9 but I dont have it myself, i only have the tech tree ones and F.58

reminds me of the me163 before the sabres got reduced to 8.0 and 8.3 and migs . often scored 5 kills or more my kd was 1:5 now its 1:3 because you can't compete with migs an sabres if they decide to run and wait for you to run out of fuel .

The thing about the vixen is that its just incredibly boring to play. You have to rely on people not paying attention, being slow, or you gotta try to energy trap them. Its such a passive playstile. The fact that it sees quite a lot of uptiers to 9.3 and 9.7 also doesnt help much.

This thing is nuts. The only reason I wouldn't buy it is because the British tech tree blows. His complains seem to center around launching missiles at targets without taking anything else into consideration, or things that apply to every aspect of the game. Facing skilled enemies isn't unique to this plane.

eh, honestly the fact that you have to pay with bonds is detrimental for you and the developers - you are spending a game resource that could get you a III era premium or a V era talisman (mind you random for a plane/ship/tank, but if its your first one of that specific era and type you will get a guaranteed pick on that one) - they are restricting themselves from potential sales for people that would have enjoyed a specific plane IMHO there is a happy middle ground, where for example if you have a certain level and enough medals, getting them for 0 or 10 bonds, perhaps even giving you a small chance of a discount upon expiry (depends on if that would be feasible for them sales wise i guess)

How on earth do you use the red tops? The kills you were getting are almost impossible in the lightning. 1km is too short for them to turn and kill

Two things: 1. They don’t have to hit the target, only need to fly near it and their proximity fuse will do the rest 2. The missile has an uncaged seeker head, which allows you to lead the missile as if you were leading gun shots. This is really important in side-aspect shots, fire your missile a bit in front of the enemy and it won’t have to manoeuvre as much to reach it.

Sea Vixen is so annoying. I've never once died to one that I knew was there but they always fly high altitude so your pilot doesn't see you and third party you when you're in a dogfight.

Completely useless aircraft and absolutely overtiered at 8.7. You get constant uptiers and face jets twice as fast and with flares. You cant do anything at all and either you die or you are being useless in the entire match. I had exactly 1 kill in my last 5 matches and that was a lone attacker from a lower BR that was randomly sitting around. The other 4 matches were: Spot F-104 or MiG-21 -> run. Also yes, every hit will rip the tail control which is a common "feature" in Bug Thunder.

Keep your speed up and know what to shoot at and its great I manage 3 kill games competently and get aces a decent amount of times and I'm a painfully average player

An ace with the sea vixen is literally impossible. That means kill 4 enemies with 4 missiles and reload and get back into fight while 98% of air RB matches end within 10 minutes. Also keeping the speed is useless when the majority of fights is an uptier against jets that fly literally TWICE as fast AND have countermeasures AND have guns AND 2nd Gen missiles.
