It ís actually easy to replace the belt on the plastic platter. On the reverse of the platter there is a plastic spigot that you hook the belt around.You then replace the platter and push it round manually until the belt engages on the motor.

I just purchase mine and it’s slow as hell, its lagging and heavy. Just put my back OEM platter back on! I’m sending them back. I also bought one for my Reloop portable .

I can understand how it would make it feel less like a toy, but how is the overall stabilization compared to just using a stabilizer ring under the OG platter? If there is enough noticeable difference in the amount of wiggle the platter has, this MIGHT be worth the money
@deeedog
@deeedog 6 жыл бұрын
Jared Maly I held out on buying one for months and was using the stabilizer ring. I eventually got rid of the ring because in order to get stabilization, you introduce friction. I didn't like the feeling of the platter rubbing on the ring. When I got the Solid cutz platter, it was night and day. Rock solid, and smooth without friction. I'm still amazed at how stable it is and should have gotten it months ago.

I was getting around to making my own version of this but would have made it exactly the same as solid cutz have. Now I can be lazy and get this instead.

You left the platter stabilizer installed when you installed the aluminum platter. Do you still need the platter stabilizer?

I’m using the same tonearm and platter, but it seems like my table doesn’t have enough torque to spin with some of my records on it. Particularly “The Itchy” by Scratch poop. When I put that record on that platter with a butter rug the weight of the record and needle stop the record from spinning. Doesn’t seem to make a difference if I’m using batteries or the wall plug.

DJ Couch King I had this problem with a stock pt01 scratch and some 7s and I stacked two slipmats (butterrug on bottom, stock slipmat on top) seemed to help remedy it mostly.

Hello, my message is certainly two years late, but perhaps this could help other people. I just received my platter yesterday, and faced the same problem of low torque of my PT01. I was really disappointed. It appears that my Dr. Suzuki slipsheet under the slipmat stuck completely to the platter and the slipmat, making the motor stop turning when I hold the record. This was due to the static electricity. Today I used a record brush to clean the platter and the slipsheet to remove this static electricity: everything is working fine now. Perhaps also my belt was badly aligned when placed in the PT01.

nice! but i always wondered how right handed scratchers scratch on the PT01. since the fader is on the right side, and if they try to scratch with their right hand, dont they hit the tonearm?
@vollgrav
@vollgrav 6 жыл бұрын
Hi I'm a right handed scratcher. It's actualy no promlem, but if you install a straight tonearm like the Bihari or the Jesse Dean, you can remove the pin so you can place the needle on the other side of the record. (se the PT01 tonearm mod.)

Is it really to do 12 inches with Solid cutz? Does it matter if you have the REV01 or REV02? Also; do you need the extra STR 010 AXIS STABILISER? I have a platter stabilizing ring at the moment and tempting to buy the REV01 or 02(Don't know which 1 though) but I'd also love to still play 12 inch and scratch so what should I do?

Hello, can you please answer this question, I don't see anyone talking about the Rev 2 platter by Solid Cutz. It is the same but without all those grooves cut into the platter. Which I can assume is better for cutting since every one of those grooves causes friction which makes it less smooth than a solid flat platter. I was planning to purchase a metal platter for my pt01 but need to know if the most recent Rev 2 is better? Thanks.
@Swiftstyle
@Swiftstyle 6 жыл бұрын
steve schantz I dont think there will be a huge difference since the record is obviously flat. But this is a great question I will look more into this

Thanks for the quick reply. I have a few set-ups and several turntables and they all have different style platters and I have found that the smoothest ones are the ones with the less holes/grooves. With the same butter rugs and have tested my Tech 1200's and PLX1000's which have only 2 holes and are smooth which is nice when back spinning/cutting, my Numark TT500 has no holes but does have grooves that are specifically designed to reduce drag but I have found that the grooves actually cause friction, I agree it's a small amount of friction but enough to notice. I have a very light & sensitive hand and feel everything on the record, I even make my own slipmats. Anyway that's why I am curious if anyone has an answer. I mean Solid Cutz did go to a smooth solid platter for Rev 02.
