sounding great man!!! regarding The Postal Service....we actually ended up modeling a custom envelope filter i built in my H9, and tweaked a bit from there! The Wash is based off of the parts of a Valhalla Vintage Verb and a Strymon Big Sky...shimmer is a NeuralDSP original thing that we worked on!

Nice to hear a demo that includes as much rhythm as lead. I know it may puzzle many (except maybe Corey) but there are lots of us out here who make our dough playing rhythm--and it's almost friggin impossible to find a demo of a guitar, amp. pedal etc. in which somebody does anything else but play three open cords and then take us on a guided tour of every lick they know.

I was also skeptical, but yes. This plugin is excellent. As soon as my trial ended, I bought it and postponed the purchase of a small Supro '64 Super combo amp reissue because I achieved the tone and dynamics with this plugin that I was after. I pitched it against a loaned '64 Super combo, S-Gear and Aurora DSP's Rhino. It's not a contest, but Cory's Archetype won my preference for recording and convenience. It achieves that "speaks-back-to-you" feel when you play through it, and the tone is on another level. I'll get the 64 Super combo down the line, but just as a treat for myself and not a necessity.
@thomascroft50764 жыл бұрын
It would be interesting to hear this being used on a really crap guitar! Obviously, playability wouldn't be improved, but it would be a good demonstration of the plug-in's capabilities. Anyway, if (like me) you don't see it coming up in Garageband after installation, make sure you trash the existing Audio Units preferences then restart the program. Go here for guidance: www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/my-newly-installed-plug-in-isnt-showing-up-in-garageband/
@thomascroft50764 жыл бұрын
Update: okay, certainly not a 'crap guitar,' but my Epiphone SG is obviously at the limited budget end of the instrument spectrum - and it sounds astonishing using this plug in - generating tones I never thought possible. It really is a 'must have' item.
@najinelson67424 жыл бұрын
Sounds nice, is there one tone or sound only? 4 bad things: 1. I-Lok 2. High cpu usage 3. High price, you get S-Gear with tons of fx and some amps for this price 4. Background color. Was the plugin designed for girls? Demoed it now, great for Strat indeed, great response and playability, but cpu usage is not acceptable. And quite a lot of presets have too much low end
@lukather14 жыл бұрын
Hi what’s the cpu usage like ? What pc. Mac do you have spec ?
@najinelson67424 жыл бұрын
Cockos Reaper (daw), WIN 7, 64 bit. Much higher cpu usage than amplitube MAX4 or Softube amp, can not remember the exact values. I hate iLok, though I have some plugins. I like amplitube more, but this plugin here is nice for Strats. This plugin does not give me even 5% of what I get from Amplitube or Softube amp. I would think about buying it maybe for 25 USD... Just demo it and find out!

@@lukather1 I do not comprehend, why there is stll iLok in 2020. ILok stole me quite a lot of lifetime because of issues. Try brainworx Bassdude (Plugin Alliance) , it's great for Strats, too and on still on sale today!
@iurigrang3 жыл бұрын
1 - Ilok wasn’t a problem for me, easy enough to install, still don’t comprehend how it works fully, but I understood enough to buy and use another of their plugins no problem. 2 - Have you tried setting oversampling to normal? This plugin was made for professional studio usage, and it runs just fine at 3-4 instances on my cheap laptop (haven’t tried more, so maybe it can run more than that), so I’d say CPU isn’t a concern for the intended usage. It does have a low CPU mode tho (normal oversampling) if your PC struggles tho. 3 - Yeah, the goal isn’t to give you all amp sounds you’ll ever need, it’s to do the ones it does insanely well. I don’t have experience with this plugin specifically, but I have used many other neural plugins (nolly, plini, abasi and omega granophyre), and oh boy do they deliver on that end. As I said, this is meant to be a professional studio tool, if you just wanna goof around, some of the more complete but lower quality solutions are for you. 4 - lmao imagine being that sensitve.

Too fizzy. Am I the only one who hates amp sims?
@PaoloC.4 жыл бұрын
I'm demoing this plugin and it is very hi-fi sounding, because it has a DI "amp" in it so you do need to have a full range frequency response, that with very clean sounds is not annoying at all. Thus it can be a little harsh with dirty sounds but you just use the provided eq block (unfortunately not shown in this video), tame the 12k freq and you're fine. In general, with amp sims, even with hardware devices like helix, just use the (usually provided) high pass filter.
