Great point on lowering the Input. It would be a nice feature addition to have a link button that increases Output to match the Input changes so the overall level out is the same. Many other plugins have this.

Very nice content !! It's a little bit like the volume control on the guitar. I spent years leaving it always at the 10 position until I discovered one day, that one of the best clean I could get out of my amp was actually by rolling off a bit my guitar volume. In an ideal world for the Neural DSP plugins, I would have preferred that a kind of algorithm manages this adjustment for me 😄. Today we have the volume of our guitar, the input level of our audio interface, the input level of the plugin and the Gain 🤪 🤯 !! It's a lot !! Finding the sweet spot can be time consuming and we could be lost tweaking. I would love that if I bring the gain down on the amp in the Plugin, an algorithm or something would automatically compensate the input level to keep me in the sweet spot. I know the sweet spot is different depending on the people but still Less is more ☺️ isn't this, after all, the philosophy of Neural DSP regarding guitar plugins ? 😜

That's great for a single channel amp, but what about the Fortin Cali, to name just one? All clean tones on all plugins (not just Neural DSP, but I have tried Tone King) are whisper quiet on overall normal system settings. I find them useless. Sure, you can turn up the system volume to the point where everything else becomes dangerously loud, but I do not think this is a good solution.

Is there a video how to avoid popping when you hit notes on clean tones with effects, compression, and boost? I’m currently using Tim Henson along with Plini’s effect pedals
@yigit_kuru Жыл бұрын
If what you call popping is a clipping issue you need to dial back the gain on your audio interface. If you are talking about notes jumping high and becoming dirty when playing a clean tone you need to add a compressor or limiter before the amp to avoid cleans becoming gritty. Hope it helped!

is neural considering a full license subscription? like stltones, alliance plugin or digital slate ??
@devingrubbs3 жыл бұрын
I hope not. These plugins aren’t cheap but once I buy them I like knowing I won’t have to keep shelling out a monthly fee. For Adobe stuff or Slate it makes sense but Neural stuff isn’t that expensive, relatively speaking. Plus theres always the 2 week trials!
@noborder76813 жыл бұрын
Devin Grubbs sorry I find that these plugins are very good, moreover their cpu load is low compared to others, and given the number of amps I would not be against a monthly subscription and take advantage of new products when they come out .. I preferred can be given 10 € per month rather than 150 for each amp ..

@themightymcb73103 жыл бұрын
Rolling down the volume on your guitar, partially engaging a volume pedal, or dropping the volume on an EQ or compressor or whatever that goes into the front of the amp.
@robertjones95983 жыл бұрын
@@themightymcb7310 Thanks! Very counter-intuitive as I always assumed maximising the signal going in would be preferable. These guys twiddling their guitar knobs on stage like Jeff Beck make a bit more sense now.
@themightymcb73103 жыл бұрын
@@robertjones9598 Yeah, it's actually possible to clean up a proper distorted tone with just the volume knob assuming you have a high quality pot installed and you aren't running some kind of boost. Van Halen did it a lot. That's how he got that low gain tone from Hot For Teacher, for example.
@Rehmoss3 жыл бұрын
Can someone explain to me what the difference is between an input signal clipping and distortion?
@ErebosGR3 жыл бұрын
Clipping turns a sine wave into a square wave by chopping off the peaks and valleys. Gain distortion has a softer knee at the tops and valleys and adds saturation (i.e. odd or even order harmonics).
