Amen on Field Notes & a One Star leather wrap. Anything from Keegan @ One Star is awesome & I highly recommend the EDC which holds a pocket knife& small pen. I suggest the Kaweco Lilliput. Since you asked about favorite pens for everyday carry I have greatly enjoyed The Brand’s Hall special edition rollerball from Field Notes themselves. Perfectly weighted with a great story about the materials used & it’s manufacture. Great video & super channel as well. Keep up the good work.

4:42 ...I followed your example ...and got a bunch of different brands of 3.5x5.5 pocket notebooks and ordered a leather cover for them... I discovered, I can jam 5 notebooks (overlaying ) into the leather notebook cover..and i like it. this was a good purchase...I am happy now

Hi Khanh, I hope you are doing well. Thanks for the leather cover recommendation! I have been looking for the best leather cover for my Field Notes for quite awhile. I've tried the official Field Notes leather cover, but it is too thick to fit in my pocket (and I wear cargo pants/shorts most of the time). Another leather cover was too wide. I am hoping the One Star leather cover is the Goldilocks version (just right). Yesterday, I ordered the same leather cover as you and received notification by the afternoon that it had already shipped - wow! Thanks again!

Will it keep the notebook in great condition while sitting on it? I use field notebooks because they fit in my back pocket very well. The problem is I work for the railroad outside and I sweat and move a lot amd it destroys them.

@@akaKhanh Lol. The field notebook is a new discovery for me so I don’t use it for video planning atm. For video planning, I use the Google keep app for ideas and I use a small mead spiral notebook for my video outline. I’ve also been using two Rocketbook notebooks that allow you to erase and reuse.

* pulls out credit card from wallet* Great video! Happy to see new notebook reviews. My favorite combo is the Maruman Mnemosyne 183 (great size a paper quality) with a Lamy Safari ball point pen. The notebook is not great for some fountain pens; but great with these ball points!

Sorry to tempt you with the notebooks haha I've looked into the Maruman Mnemosyne 183 before. I was so close to buying it from Goulet? Or maybe JetPens? Anyhow, I had to restrain myself because I had 5 Leuchtturms sitting in my closet haha How's the Lamy Safari ball point? I've always been intrigued, but never enough to get it over a Safari fountain pen.

@@akaKhanh I think one of the first videos of yours that I watched was a Leuchtturm review (I was considering getting one and I did!). I love my Safari ball point. Ball points are... you know, ball points; but this Safari is NICE. In fact, I’d maybe pick the ball point over the fountain pen. Also, I’m left-handed, and the Safari fountain pen is not the most comfortable. Not an issue with the ball point!

I had assumed that based on your comment on my 2020 Year In Review video! That comment was also why knew to prioritize this video! :) Writing with a fountain pen while left handed has gotta be a struggle. Thanks for letting me know. My brother is graduating soon and I was considering getting him a pen, but he's also left handed and has no patience for fountain pens. The Safari ball point might just be the perfect fit!

I've been journaling, notetaking, and making lists for some time. Rite in the Rain and Field Notes are awesome products, but I usually stick with Moleskin or something similar. Albeit more affordable. I've started to get serious about bullet journaling to better organize my goals/hopes/wishes/dreams. I'm mentioning journaling to my brother tonight because I know he gets stressed out. This world is unkind. It would please me if our family store would care a notebook with our family branding on it. That would help a lot of people.
