I’ve been looking at the 2.5 gallon containers to throw in the car for day trips. Someone’s water bottle is inevitably empty, washing hands before lunch, cleaning cool rocks we found, so many uses! 5 gallons is overkill for day trips, and I always use my water for all the random needs. Great video, and it’s always worth the effort to get the family outside!

100% agree 👍 2.5 gallons seems like just the right amount for everyday activities and short weekend trips. Especially with little ones inevitably getting dirty haha I appreciate you watching!

Been using the scepter surplus water and fuel jugs since 2014 for camping in the back country. They are tough and simple, They empty quick, and the water jugs are easy to clean and sterilize. You can also pick up 2 jugs in one hand with the way the handles are designed on the fuel jugs. Easy to tie down and bunch together with the same jugs.

I completely agree! Ours is about 4 years old now and it has never let us down. We have beat it up too and it continues to impress! I just wish it was easier to pour.

Scepter is the only thing I use. I have a 2.5 gallon and several 5 gallons. Great video!

Thank you! I will have to get one of the 2.5 gallon ones to see if its easier to lug around. We will have our 5 gal. one for the rest of our lives probably

@@GetTheFamilyOutdoors Yes they are kind of like an anvil or or pyrex or something. Take care!

Does the Dometic come with the tap featured in the video?

Sadly not. The Dometic Faucet is another $65 if you can find it on sale.

I like our Igloo camping water jerry cans. They hold 6 gallons and are bpa free and rated for food grade. Found them on Walmart online for $17.99

Sweet! I will have to give those a try! Do you find them hard to lug around?
@A2thaLO25 күн бұрын
@GetTheFamilyOutdoors Admittedly Yes, they are quite heavy when lugging them, but at the same time, I'm a woman with far less strength than a man. It would be easy for you to carry 😊

I have been using the Scepter for years, and all I do to make it easier to use is put a dispenser on it. I got a USB dispenser from Amazon that costs $8-15 and fits perfectly on the nozzle.
@GetTheFamilyOutdoorsАй бұрын
We have done the same thing. We printed an adapter for one of the cheap battery powered dispenser and it worked great for about a year!
@alopandur7 күн бұрын
Can you recommend any battery operated dispenser that would fit without modification to the Scepter lid? I know you might not be able to put link here, but any name or key search word, please...
@jakemaughan38186 күн бұрын
@@alopandur I don't know of any that fit directly on. I have always used a 3d printed adapter so that any of the cheap amazon water dispensers fit onto the scepter. if you search "Scepter Water Container Pump Adapter" you should find a few different variations. As far as the pumps go. Most of the $10-$20 ones have worked good for us.
