THANK YOU so much for your videos Hannah! They teach me so much and are very valuable for POD beginners like me :) I have a question about specific holiday designs. how many designs would you say make sense for one holiday? I'm preparing for St Patricks day and am wondering if the amount of designs should be somewhere between 20 and 50 or more between 50 to 200? It's hard to find the balance between doing enough to get sales and doing way too much and it's a time waste.. Thank you so much! greetings form germany

For holidays even though it will come and go this year, it’s never a waste because there is next year too. I always think more is better.

Hi, Hannah! Thank you for your videos! To someone who is starting with POD, on which platform would you recommend to launch first- on Etsy or at Amazon Merch?
@hannahebeling

I would apply for Amazon merch first and then get started with Etsy and redbubble after that!

@@hannahebeling Thank you! I'll keep trying with Everbee. I have only had my shop since mid Dec and have no organic sales yet so I'm trying to watch all the videos to help me. Thank you for all the ones you have made. I haven't seen them all but I'm working through them. Do you make custom shirt options in your shop? That seems to be really popular, but I just haven't grasped how to make and fulfill personalized orders yet.

Wow Hannah, this is so helpful. What about Gearbubble? I'm confused if this is actually replacing Merch Amazon as we can integrate Amazon in Gearbubble... but I'm just starting my researches so I may be mixing everything up 🤪

Hey Hannah, Apparently no one was ever allowed to use Canva graphics for POD. A relatively recent post in the official Canva Design Community from Canva itself states that no elements from Canva are allowed to be used for POD, since it falls under file sharing, which is not allowed. You're only allowed to print shirts, mugs, posters, book covers etc when you print it yourself, at home, with your own equipment. Because of the confusing way they wrote their several pages of terms of use made it so it looked like you could. But you never could to begin with. There is also a video from Mey Aroyo about it.

In my opinion if you are transforming the assets on Canva (not just printing graphics straight from them) to make your own designs, you can use them for POD. If you are looking for a site that everything can 100% be used for POD I would check out Kittl.

@@hannahebeling Oh, I am not talking about using graphics 100%, that was already known. I am talking about transformed and manupilated graphics. They mentioned that ANY of Canva's content is not allowed to be used in Print on Demand. Whether it's manipulated or not. It still falls under the file sharing rule, that is not allowed. That is why they never mention POD specifically anywhere in the Canva terms of use and always only mention that "YOU" are allowed to print. Meaning you physically printing things yourself. Someone asked that specific question, if they're allowed to use an image from Canva using a mixture of Canva elements and photography and their own photography to create a unique POD design. And this was also answered with a clear no. The reason is, because you have to upload these images (whether they are menipulated or not) to a hub where a lot of people (POD staff) has access to them and could be cropping, cutting and/or extracting graphics from that file. So in short, you're sharing canva files with people who can use them however they want, not pay for using them and thus not giving any compensation to the artists who created those graphics. That's why you are only allowed to use them when you print yourself and don't put it on any other platform. Whether what they say actually happens or not, doesn't matter. THAT is what their Terms of Use means. And that's also why there has been so much confusion for years about how to use them. I initially thought as well that as long as you transform the elements, you can just use them for POD. But you can't. And sadly, it's not about opinions. It's about what Canva allows you to do. Or doesn't allow you to do in this case. Oh and I apologise for using the wrong name! Haha, you're not the only one I send this message to, and I thought I switched out the names. Guess I forgot 😅

File sharing, meaning selling the art as a file. Not using to create item. People have contacted them on this and they stated you can as long as you make a new design with it
@queenkitty7725
@queenkitty7725 6 ай бұрын
@@danimotherofchickens479 It seems confusing. With Creative Fabrica, they have a ton of designs clearly labeled as either POD or Full POD. To me that seems much better. I don't want to waste my time with something I can't use in the long run because of unclear guidelines or if they change their mind.

thank you so much for the video, i want to get into POD but i would like to ask about the profit. do you make profit out of royalties or you make profit per sale. for instance let me say you sell a t-shirt for 19$ and the royalties is 0.18$ are going to make the profit out the sale or both. hope you understand thank you
@hannahebeling
@hannahebeling Жыл бұрын
Each print on demand platform is a little different. Redbubble and Amazon use royalties and then if you sell on Etsy you are purchasing a product and making profit after the sale. I try to make sure my royalties or profit is no less than $5 per sale if not more.
