I have that exact red 8BitDo Ultimate Controller hooked up to my Switch and the blue one hooked up to my PC. I understand the reservation about the analog triggers, but I think it's a good feature to have if you're also using it as a PC controller. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around someone not liking the SNES-style d-pad, but to each their own. And for me, any minor flaws the 8BitDo Ultimate Controller has are overcome by the beautifully done functionality of the charging dock. As long as I have the dock plugged into my Switch or PC, all I have to do is take the controller out of the dock and it automatically turns on and connects. When I'm done, I just place it back in the dock and the controller disconnects and shuts off. The convenience factor is next level.

I've been using the Gamesir Nova for a couple months now and it's my favorite controller so far. A cousing gave me an Original Nintendo Pro Controller with very little use a couple weeks ago so i could make the comparison. OG feels sturdier and more solid but i found the size of the Nova more comfortable, the distance between the buttons is perfect for Metroid Prime Remastered (Nintendo Pro feels like buttons are a bit far away from each other) quite satisfied with my purchase. Also thanks for acknowledging the travel issue in the Mobapad Chitu, i loved that controller before it was stolen but i was always a bit uncomfortable with the face buttons they always felt too soft and too close to the surface i dunno if this is a thing with all mechanical buttons or maybe im too used to membrane because i absolutely adore the resistance and clickiness on the Gamesir Nova. KK3 MAX looks tempting taking my satisfied experience with the Nova into account (this controller sounds like a high quality version) but with the Switch about to enter it's Eleventh Hour i think i'll wait a couple years to buy a Switch 2 and and see what third party brands offer on controllers.

According to Mobapad all third party controllers will still work with the new Switch. But you are right to be slightly cautious.

How to know this was a paid advertisement video? Never mentioned the 8bitdo ultimate dongle that comes with the controller that does the same thing as the one in the kk3 and it also has a charging base.
@128KB4 ай бұрын
@@morterox2 if it was a paid advertisement we'd have to clarify, it's KZbin's terms and conditions. Also, whoever would have sponsored it would want us to shout it out to get their name out. That's just how sponsors work. That aside, you're 100% right, that info was omitted because I didn't bring the dock with me (out of sight, out of mind) and it is important info. The dock is excellent, as is its capability of becoming a dongle extender. As we said at the start though, all of these are excellent controllers in our eyes and we were really going by the controllers themselves and how they feel etc.

I love how people are so sure that things are a paid advertisement. Honestly dude it's not, we say when a video is. We just make videos about things we like. If we missed something, cool, do let us know in the comments. But that or not agreeing with our thoughts doesn't make this a paid ad. Also of the dozens of controllers we've reviewed these are the BEST 4. As we say in the video, any on this list are a great buy.

@emandm18223 ай бұрын
No I can't stand the sticks not being next to each other. The dpad being up to the left on ps controller is way better imo
@StardustLegacyFighter3 ай бұрын
Most PS players would agree with you, but despite also being one I actually prefer Xbox layout, especially for the games that I like to play.
@askeladden4503 ай бұрын
Most modern games rely on a joystick+ABXY scheme, so having them on top is most comfortable for most games. PS style is only good for retro games. For modern games, the joystick is too far away unless you have giant hands, and this reduces the amount of subtle control you have over them. I tried playing Hollow Knight with both and Xbox style was soooo much easier and comfortable.
@tofuteh23482 ай бұрын
@@askeladden450 so PS style is only good for retro games and yet you said Xbox was soooo much better for hollow knight, a retro inspired game. Fact is that all these arguments are arbitrary and subjective. I could just as well say most modern games rely on left joystick + right joystick more than joystick + face buttons. The truth is people are just brainwashed into thinking what they're used/prefer to is what's universally best for everyone. Companies make unaligned joysticks are unaligned because that's what people are used to, not because of ergonomics.
@askeladden4502 ай бұрын
@@tofuteh2348 more games use joystick + ABXY than DPad + ABXY. Thats why most controllers have that scheme. End of story.

Why do you prefer the Gullikit KK3 Pro over the KK3 Max? Is it because of the extra features getting in the way on the max or is there a difference in the feel and buttons on the controllers.

All of that really! I personally don't care for the extra features but the rubbery feel of the Max I wasn't overly keen on, the plastic design of the pro I feel has better longevity. Sometimes rubber goes sticky etc over time

I am kind of confused between the Mobapad Chitu HD and the Mobapad Huben M9 HD, which is better?
@TheInfiniteNine4 ай бұрын
Depends what you are looking for. Although the Huben M9 has ALPS joysticks so it would be more likely to develop drift than the hall effect sticks in the ChituHD, if you happen to get unlucky in that way. Also the M9 has a more xbox controller style layout/design where the ChituHD looks more like the shape of Nintendo's Pro Controller. I have both and I like them both very much. It is tough to say which one I'd chose over the other, personally.

Honestly the 8bitdo ultimate controller is good. Those it does have a few things i dont like. One is the placement of the d-pad. Especially with the style of d-pad it uses. Feel like if they kept in the same place like pro2 model. Really the other is the analog triggers. Have switches that give u that digital press on the fly. If they can make upgrade with these changes. Pur anti-friction rings it would be really good. But honestly thr bestvpro controller is fhe mobapad chitu. Love the mechanical switches and absolutely feel of rhe controller.

ABSOLUTELY missing the PXN 9607X $39 (AUD) or around $15 USD. No back paddles - BUT nada lag, lasts 100hrs, wakes the switch, turbo, amiibo, hall affect, wireless (or wired) no leds (don't think required). Texture is lovely. D pad is rad. Has rumble - and can be increased or decreased through the app, as can many other settings) If you want to spend more, I'm sure some of the pricier ones will feel slightly better - but comparing it to an Xbox remote, 8bitdo, etc, it wipes the floor. (Just my opinion. No I don't have a channel, nor am I affiliated - purely from my experience - a great one for a low low cost)
@StardustLegacyFighter3 ай бұрын
100 hours of use from a 550MaH battery? They're only advertising 20 hours, which is still great, but 5x less than what you're claiming. Also, they don't advertise having hall effect joysticks for this controller, so I have no idea where you're getting that information from. I think it's a decent choice if you're on a very tight budget, but most Switch users are affluent, so something like this is probably not worth buying for them.

@@StardustLegacyFighteryou're correct I'm sorry, on the hours. I'm not a reviewer or pro.
