Watching/listening things in double speed is a blessing and a curse. Since I’ve started doing it, I also started struggling with real life situations that don’t have the option, such as some video meetings. Can’t keep focused on them as they seem extra slow.

I really like the background in this video, the five minute rule genuinely is pretty useful to get things done which you just don't want to. The projects we get at school seem really uninteresting so I just convince myself to do it all in one sitting. It doesn't happen in one sitting because it generally takes a lot of materials but by the time I get up, atleast there's this sense of satisfaction that only a small part of the procedure remains and that I would be able to submit it on time.

Hi Ali. I hope you don't mind me saying that procrastination is considered by a lot of psychologists to be an issue with anxiety. The "do it for 5 minutes and you'll be fine" is a strategy I can certainly see working for someone who is only slightly anxious as they end up seeing that the work is really no big deal. But the sword that really slays anxiety issues is the self-examination to identify what thoughts are causing the anxiety. Possibly with therapy if the problem is REALLY bad.

1 thing that can be talked about more is the text-to-speech tool. It can be used to take notes while someone speaks (like a lecture), help you write down your own thought more easily (like an essay), and it can save time by focusing on what is being said rather than being worried about writing it down.

I like the Organize Tomorrow Today, where every day till noon you set for tomorrow 3 most important things and one of them as a must. Plus I like the GTD - getting things done where you do weekly review and decide from the backlog on what project I want to advance the next week, make sure each has step by step action plan and time allocated to get it done

My favorites are the 2-day rule and the Eisenhower Matrix. I've also recently tracked the time I spend on studies, versus creative work, as well as "multitasking" (creative work that doesn't require much cognitive energy while listening to instructive material related to my studies). I don't quite know why I'm tracking my time. The quote "what's gets measured gets managed" hasn't applied that well for me so far. I think I want to get a better understanding of how well my calendar and my action line up, as well as how much I get done during a certain amount of time.

Turns out that consuming content at 1.5 speed does work for me. Because all the information is being delivered faster I make an effort to hyperfocus and I find this prevents me from getting distracted. I can't do it with all contact and sometimes 1.25 speed is plenty to help me focus on the video or audio, but would highly recommend it, I never thought of it as a tool for learning, but it works.
