For all non-WB viewers, this was a very petit Pujo with very little crowds (due to the Pandemic). Deshopriyo Park has had enough of a crowd to stop functionality of 4 main roads before... that's more than 100x of what's shown in the video (and that's not a hyperbole). And the pandal they did this year was absolutely NOTHING compared to the ambitious ones they did before Covid, e.g. the tallest Durga Idol some years ago.

Yes deshapriyo park pujo has got smaller with less pulling of crowds since last 3 years. In the year 2016 there was a stampede like phenomenon in the adjacent roads starting from kalighat metro. Such was the intensity of gathering.

I WAS THERE BACK IN 2016 IF NOT WRONG. the traffic came at a standstill and there was almost a stampede. the traffic police and kolkata police had a nightmere to control the footfall. they advertised the TALLEST DURGA IN THE WORLD so much on tv and newspapers that people from the suburbs and nearby district flocked the pandal. we were lucky to get inside cause after the an hour or so they had the close down the gate of the park and nobody could get it. THAT WAS SOME EXPERIENCE!!!

@@getsandy2007 2015(Tallest Durga) and 2016(Hazar Hather Durga) these two years there was a different craze about Deshapriya Park. But from 2017(Bahubali), 2018(Padmaavat), 2020(Kedarnath) and 2021(Burj Khalifa); now the craze is all about Sreebhumi. Deshapriya Park has lost it's magnificence with time, this year's pandal was just nothing at all.
