Few key points if you're looking for a "review" rather than first impressions: - New battery has a 10,000 mAh capacity, just under double that of the old BoboVR batteries. - Can't use the old batteries on the new S3 Pro strap, they simply don't fit/connect - I can still hear the fan buzz WITHOUT over ear headphones on, it's slightly* less noticeable but can definitely still be heard when using the Quest 3 built in speakers. It's a loud fan in my opinion. Only really for fitness/intense sweaty useage cases. - Can't hear any buzz/noise from the new battery, that issue seems exclusive to the old battery/M3 Pro. - The battery charges the Quest 3 pretty quickly, took my Quest from 0% to 10% in about 15minutes - You can buy spare batteries but they don't seem to be in stock yet - Current price is an introductory offer and it will be rising in price in February

Just received it (5 days after ordering, from China to Europa, superfast). The fan works fantastic, much better than the older fan Bobovr made. @@FleaOnMyWiener Received mine yesterday (UK). It's really nice. Very comfortable. For comparison, I only have the Quest 2 elite strap with battery and the original Playstation VR. It's as comfy as the Playstation VR for sure. I've always thought the halo design was the way to go, and it's so nice to finally use a strap that keeps the weight off the cheeks. It is pretty well balanced, but maybe still a tiny bit front heavy - I occasionaly need to nudge it upwards from time to time, but I may not have fine tuned the adjustment yet as there are lots of ways to tilt and extend bits. I think because it's no longer airtight around my eyes, it hasn't fogged up yet so haven't had to use the fan. I suspect that it may do the job keeping the lenses clear though. I did try using the strap without the eye guard like a quest pro. My experience was that it gradually worked its way down so it was resting on my nose, but again that may be down to me just getting the adjustment right. Without a doubt though, this is a lovely strap. The fan is great and much quieter than having a fan on in the room!

Just by looking at its specs it should be able too. I use a 10,000 MAH 20w power bank on my quest 3 and its able to keep the Quest 3 fully charged during even intense gameplay. My battery life was about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. I would assume this should be similar.
@jimmydesouza437510 ай бұрын
@@chan13153 If your battery life is 2.5 - 3 hours with a 10 amp hour battery you aren't keeping the quest 3 fully charged, unless you're referring to the "battery life" on the powerbank itself. Also you need more than 20w to keep the quest 3 fully charged during "intense gameplay". For example mine needs a minimum of 22w to maintain charge. The quest 3 has an internal 4.5 amp hour battery, which will get you around 2 hours of gameplay, a 10 amp hour powerbank attached to it should then get you around 6 hours.

Okay, I don't know if anyone knows about this but Meta apparently has made some changes to the design of the headset so that it now directs some of the cooling air for the headset through the inside of the headset. When the headset is cold and I wear it, it starts to fog up, but after a while the fog just clears and I can feel a little breeze of air inside the headset. So there's really no need to put a fan on the head straps anymore I think. Also I really wonder what's the point of putting a display on the outside of the headstrap which you will never see when you're wearing the headset. They might have easily put a button on the outside of the strap and when you click on it it can light up an LED facing towards your face in kind of Morse code fashion. Or a better solution is to just replace the fan with a vibration motor. When you click on a button outside of the headstrap the vibration motor on the forehead will vibrate according to the level of the battery. I also believe that the back design should change, like it should combine the battery and the adjustment mechanisms all into one. I think I will pass this one and wait for the new battery adapters for the M3 Pro.

I had one to attach to the Quest 2 and it made a massive difference for fogging, though this one sounds like it blows more onto the head, than clearing through the lenses… will have to see then.

I've been trying to get one of these but it's incredibly hard to get one ps5 when they launched hard....

It’s possible Beardo has a noisy fan, gamertagvr noted how quiet it was. For me personally I find my headset gets hot to the point of making my forehead to hot to be comfortable. Happy to have the fan included, what’s the worst that can happen, turn it off? Looking forward to mine arriving, pairing it with the AMVR interface, comfort is king, fan or not. I use soundcore v10 earbuds so wouldn’t hear it anyway.

I don't know if they've decided to do this, but they should really be offering no questions asked refunds to anyone who purchased an M3 strap at any time between October and now since they clearly weren't prepared for the Quest 3's arrival and released a product that didn't properly work with it.

Can you charge the battery while it is in the headset and not using it?

Not even a memtion of how well the new 10000mah batteries perform? How much extra time do they give ? How long do they take to charge its a battery h3adstrap and you missed the one thing thats important

Wish I didn't get the m3 right before this was announced 😢 but I do appreciate the upgrades they offer. Just wish they made the old battery compatible

No hum at all.

The m3 battery does not buzz if you plug it in when the Q3 is below 74 %🫡
@BeardoBenjo10 ай бұрын
That's really interesting, so it only starts to buzz when the Quest is getting close to being fully charged? How odd
@soyland569810 ай бұрын
@@BeardoBenjo might have to do with the slow charge at the end, not sure when that starts but it might be at 74%🤷♂️ mine never buzz under 74 % atleast
@meettheavatars10 ай бұрын
I added a comment that suggested adding battery when it's about 30% below, it's strange but I haven't had the issue come back if I attach battery when headset battery is low@@BeardoBenjo

Yo dude, according to Bobovr the new battery does have an led on the battery. You can’t see it unless you push the button on the battery.

Fan is a nice feature to forget about till you need it and maybe then you'll be listening to some loud exercise music, lol. They'll probably put a charge % screen on a dock down the road and hey maybe the battery will last long enough that swapping might not even be necessary. Appreciate the honest first impressions. I ordered one as my current swappable extended battery option killed itself. I think it overheated and damaged the terminal pins spring. While some might be upset this didn't come out sooner I am gambling that they've taken their time and tested this thoroughly. Will be my 3rd headset battery. Started with the Meta elite strap and we saw how that failed after a month of use. Hibloks seemed promising and worked well, but now I am waiting for overseas mail for the replacement part. Cue circus music in my background.

Can you flip the headset up without removing the strap? eg if you were to talk to someone or to look at your phone and didn't want to use passthrough

Does anyone know if this charges thought past trough via Quest 3 charging dock. Or do we still need to charge headset and bobo battery separately.

İs it that much different from the M3 based on overall comfortability? İ would absolutely love an S3 super but 100€ is sadly out of my budget but i could still maybe get a m3 in March.

They will release an upgrade kit that basically replaces the battery dock and lets you use the improved battery. They even have the menu item on their website but last time I clicked on it the actual content was still missing

One of the biggest problems, if not the biggest problem the previous headstrap had was the batterypack not being powerful enough to charge while playing. Has this been adressed?? Can’t believe you forgot to test i.e mention this lol Edit: missed your pinned comment. Thanks for that :)

Its getting a bit tired now youtubers getting stuff flung at them it has to colour opinion .. remember the psvr 2 ..."reviews". Not one of them mentioned any problems then when real people had them in hands the backlash prompetd a cordinated flood of videos from the same people addressing the blur. They arent called influencers for nothing . Take it all with a bucket of salt

But do you have the head strap?
@BigFrogg10 ай бұрын
Genuinely curious what you mean by the blur in psvr2? It’s by far the sharpest vr I’ve ever tried, including quest 3. Do you mean the smaller ‘sweet spot’? Thats a very easy problem to solve if worn correctly so I can see why reviewers didn’t mention it

Does the fan blow into the headset to prevent lens fogging. The Bobovr site says it keeps the head and face cool.
