Hi, Erica.. I always admire your beautiful sewing room. I am currently working on organizing mine, but I've grown out of my original room and seems that I need to finish out my garage, but where will I put my car? Lol. Thanks so much for the give away. I usually don't win these things, but if I were the lucky one, a 36x60 would be perfect for my new space. If I don't win, I can always ask Santa for one..he listens... sometimes. Nice video as always Erica. Good job Jax! I like this mat for several reasons: First, I really like the white background with the blue lines and numbers. Next, I appreciate the numbers going in both directions. Finally, I think that the dotted inch markings between, help the visual ease of counting inches. What a long way cutting mats have come. My first mat in 1983 did not even have markings. It was solid green. Also, about twenty years ago, quilting instructors used to say not to use the grids as they were not accurate, only use rulers. So yes, they have come a long way by being both accurate, and easy on the eyes! The 36” x 60” interests me.

I like the fact that the mats are made from recycled PVC pipes and made in the USA!!!! I also like the fact that the mat laid flat when you opened it. I have a mat on my table now that is worn out- I’ve already turned it and both ends are worn out. I would need a 36 x 60” mat. Thank you for the tutorial and letting me know about this site.

My wonderful husband expanded my sewing/craft area from 240sqft to over 700sqft. He also built me a new cutting table, which is 4’x8’ (48x96 mat) I’ve just started organizing, donating, give away, etc. I love your videos and of course Jax. I would love the 24x36. I have had such a hard time with cutting mats and rotary cutters. I just finally stopped trying to use them and went back to my scissors. There should not be that much stress over doing something that is suppose to be relaxing. Lol

You are so right! These are the best mats ever! The only mat type I've had and used for almost 30 years now! I have one tip for you...I bought a 24x36 mat to sit on top of my big 48x96 mat for all of my smaller cutting right where I work most. It protects the big mat and its a whole lot cheaper to replace the small one when you need to and then your big mat lasts a lot longer. And the small mat slides and spins so easily on the big mat you can cut all the way around templates and patterns and such. Since you still have your old mat just cut it up and keep the best parts for on top of your big mat or other countertops or smaller tables. Smaller pieces are good in the kitchen for "sliders" under appliances. If any cut edges are sharp, just hit them with some very fine sandpaper. And when on side is worn, just flip it over and use the other side. You won't have lines but you have a brand new mat to use. These are just the best! Right now I just moved and the movers trashed my big mat . I was so upset. I am rebuilding a new sewing/quilting table and need and would love to win a 48x96 mat.

Thanks for a great tutorial on this mat! I was also wondering if you could do a quilting best practices video.
