1:12:25 Honestly in my experience it's *SOOOO MUCH WORSE* than the picture OP painted. I do want to emphasize that this is absolutely subjective. However it should also be noted that if what I experienced is widespread than empirical evidence wouldn't really exist. Here's the short version: I used to work at a hospice care facility (end of life care). One of my favorite clients was a little old lady we'll call Annie. Annie and her husband, Gray, decided to move into our facility because of Gray's declining mobility/quality of life. Neither of them were "sick" exactly: the aches and pains of a nearly century's long life were too much to manage. I had the privilege of caring for them both for 18 months, though I had a lot more interaction with Annie. Anywho she stubbed her toe. The RN (registered nurse) on shift gave it a look over and said she'd be fine... but the RN forgot to document it, nor did say anything during report. The following day her toe was red and swollen so Annie mentioned it to an HCA (health care aid). The HCA took one look and ran off to get the nurse (wanna guess who was on shift?). Well this particular RN musta had something to prove (that or a screw loose) cuz she hardly glanced down before saying "you'll be fine", despite the obvious signs of infection that had developed over night. Again the RN did not make a note of anything. Well on day 3 Annie was getting worried. She woke up to a pretty substantial infection and waisted no time in information her doctor. The doc took a look and decided a topical antibacterial would be the best course of action. Now it should be noted that this doc is a real peice of work: just imagine the body of a gigga-Chad with the personality of Dr.House, the charm of a hemorrhoid, and the entitlement of a Karen. Basically he's insufferable and impossible to work with. Now there were a lot of people concerned about his decision to just prescribe polysporin. Considering how far along the infection had progressed most of the staff assumed oral antibiotics were the only viable option. Well the few staff members that had the balls to mention this to the doc got nothing but a vrowbeating. Ill never forget the doc dropping was this gem: "Last time I checked it your opinion wasn't worth 250k a year." On day 4 Annie developed a blood infection and was transferred to the general hospital. I was thankful for that as I'd assumed she'd get the help she so desperately needed. On day 5 Annie was pretty worn out from her ordeal and spent the whole day asleep. Had she been awake she'd have noticed a sickly sweet smell in the air, and had she pulled her feet free of the blanket she might have noticed the blackening tip of her toe.... and I guess the hospital must have been swamped because they missed it too. Annie didn't awaken on day 6, which I guess was a blessing in disguise... of sorts. I mean it's kinda had to worry about half your foot turning black when you're in a coma... and in my opinion I'd rather wake up from a coma with an amputated limb than have to sat the words "yeah doc, lop off my leg." Problem is Annie never woke up from that coma. The week long infection had taken its toll, and in the end the emergency operation was too much. She died on the operating table. So why did I share this tragedy? Because I am still angry about it. There were *NO* repercussions. The inquiry afterwards found that nobody was at fault. I couldn't handle it, in my eyes the ineptitude of my coworkers cost a woman her life. Now this anecdote isn't why I quite working hospice. I quite after only a few years because I have dozens of stories like this (but this one is the best) ❤ miss you Annie

People ripping of your art sucks. When I was in graphic design school ( my second year). I had someone copy my project. She was in GD1 I was GD2. She was struggling in this degree program. I felt bad because she was discouraged. I offered to help her with a project. I showed her what I had done the previous year for that project. ( I know now that was a bad idea, but I was homeschooled so people cheating off my work honestly didn't cross my mind. She copied my exact design but changed the topic. She got an A off my design. I never showed anyone else in classes my work.

Unfortunately, the schools in America suck. My son went to school in Scotland, and they really involved the parents. Before, he could even go to class on the 1st day, I had to meet with the teachers twice, and that was so that they could get all the information and set up a specific plan just for him. It was incredible, and I wish it was like that here.

The fact that the Karen from the hospital data center story DIDN'T get instantly fired after causing the death of a patient is baffling to an absurd degree. Look, protection from consequences caused by accidental negligence i get, but this was WILLFULL negligence. The Karen saw that alert and WILLFULLY ignored it, causing the death of that patient. Causing the death of another person through willful negligence should ALWAYS be instant termination at the very least, there is NO EXCUSE for any company, let alone a HOSPITAL to allow something like that to go unpunished. Doing so is not just ethically wrong, its also bad for buisness, if other companies find out an employee of yours got someone killed because they were being willfully negligent, and you DIDN'T immediately fire them, how do you think that makes you look? Do you think ANY clients would trust you after finding that out? No, no they wouldn't.

The last dude has more petty in him. I remember he has another story about how his mom kidnapped his kids (took them to the store while he was in the shower. 19:40 the sad reality is that most employers and companies don't care how much work you have, but how much work you're do ie how long you work and not being idle while on the clock, this is why most employees pretend their work takes longer than it should to avoid being seen as idle or given extra tasks outside of their job description

Thanks! I know right, thinking it over if it had ended differently I feel like I could've ended up on pro revenge from her perspective: "How I fired my asshole boss". I generally get on with everyone I work with, but I knew she hated me. Glad it ended the way it did, my missus had our first kid in April last year and if I'd been fired it would have been a really rough time.

Farmer/Lease: That move by the Owner cancelling the lease, would have been illegal in most if not all U.S. states. Farmer would have a legal right to harvest the crop. Even if the property was sold, the new owners could not touch the crop until after harvest.

My hubby & I had been well established on our little country road when a couple from the city moved in next to us with 2 boys. These people would constantly complain how we were bringing down their property value bc we didn't maintain the wooded land between our lot & theirs, we had a shed, and any number of things which were bs. They even had the nerve to complain to the local government about us bc of too any vehicles on our land (we own a few antique Jeeps & a 1955 pickup plus 4 other trucks that were all registered). Of course they were basically told to pound sand by the township & we were informed jokingly about the complaint. What these people didn't realize was that my hubby worked for the local highway dpt & his family has a long & respected history in our area. I finally informed them that we could live in peace with them or we could go to Karen War & that would not end well for them. They chose the former & it has been peaceful ever since, except for the occasional dagger stares when we see them.
