any chance you can go film at newport caravan park (over next to hemsby in you guessed it newport :P ) they are thinking about renovating the club and getting rid of that amazing 70's interior someone needs to document it before it's gone forever clubland places are disappearing sooo fast :( it's in amazing condition still and lets face it old yarmouth is all been ripped down and replaced way to quickly :(

This is how an old traditional hotel should be maintained and preserved, unlike some of the poor hotels at the mercy of Britannia! Looked lovely - a mix of modern comfort and vintage style. And for a change the windows looked clean and smart! Food looked good too. I'd go! Thanks Tim and Gaby.

Have stayed here on several occasions with my sons and grand children and Westie dog and always look forward to staying again. They have certain bedrooms where dogs can stay and make us welcome every time. I have mobility problems but coped with the help of the lovely lift which my grand children loved. Fantastic hotel.

Great review. We've stayed at The Imperial several times and always enjoyed ourselves. The common areas may be a bit "retro" but it would be difficult to modernise those without entirely gutting the place, and it's all kept clean. The rooms are decorated beautifully and the food is superb. Best Eggs Benedict I've ever had at breakfast! Lovely friendly staff make you feel so welcome.

I worked at the Imperial when aged 16-19 and it's only now I realise how it has shaped my work ethic. I remember at a particularly spirited wedding celebration, a guest was 'ill' in the gents toilet and made a right mess. I went to get all the necessary cleaning kit and when I returned the hotel manager, Nick, was already scrubbing on his hands and knees. I was genuinely shocked as I thought he would have got one of us youngsters to sort it - but he looked at me and said a good manager should never ask an employee to do something they're not prepared to do themselves. Now I'm a manager and I follow the same rule. Thanks to the Mobbs family for being damned good people.

The beds are king singles and it is usual in hotels to join them together if you book a double room. If someone books twin singles then the beds are separated. It makes the room more versatile. By the way the teapot wasn’t dirty it was tannin from tea. It can be removed but it shouldn’t affect the taste.

I have actually stayed once for a week at the Imperial about 35 years ago! I was there attending a course relating to my work. The Cru restaurant was called the Ramboullet and the food was great then. It looks really good still.I live in Norwich and often think about treating myself to a weekend stay there and I am so glad you have posted your review. I would like to have a sea view room if I stayed there .. the sunrise is spectacular if the sky is clear. Thanks Tim.

I liked the room, mainly because there is plenty of space between the bed and the wall in front of it, where the work/vanity station is. Many hotels, and mostly flats where people live, tend to maximise profitability by minimising room space, which I absolutely hate

Good morning Tim, we have just stayed in Kent at Port Lympne Hotel and reserve, which has accommodation on site where you can stay in rooms separated from the enclosures just by a piece of glass and they have some treehouses if you are not too keen on that idea, when the park closes you can venture round at your leisure and when staying you are equipped with a golf buggy to get around and can park up at the different enclosures.

This is my go to hotel whenever I visit Great Yarmouth. The staff are so friendly and the food is fantastic. We once had a room with the balcony which looks out to sea. It costs a bit more but in the summer it is great as you can sit on there with a cup of tea and watch the world go by. I have never had a bad experience at this hotel and, for me, it is worth every penny.

Spent many a day in Yarmouth. Great place for history as you can walk the near intact town walls. My mother would often check into The Imperial if she couldn't be bothered to drive the 40 miles back to Watton and stay the night after a heavy night at the two casinos. Even with the dog they never cared to two hoots and often the dog had it own little brekky made up for her. As my mother often rolled up with nothing, one female staff member (Wendy I think) would find her a hairbrush from the town!

Great Yarmouth is awesome and my kids love it there, especially Freight night for Halloween and it's a year long planning for us, what were going to dress up as and all the rides and ofc swimming. Lots of love from Suffolk. The food looks so yummy

I've never stayed at The Imperial but have had many wonderful holidays at Burlington/Palm Court next door, I must say that The Imperial has always had a great reputation and after seeing your review Tim must try this beautiful hotel, as always thank you for sharing another quality vlog 👍♥️

Not stayed at the Imperial Hotel but we did stay a few years back at a Hotel further down the front and that was pretty atrocious ( £150 per night for two people and the view was a brick wall,the Bed was like a Brick and not the cleanest or comfortable, the carpet was minging and it was a horrible Birthday experience ( we’d gone for a bit of fun evening 😉 but we were more concerned about the state of the room etc) we did complain but were not offered another Room or the management didn’t seem interested in our concerns or reservations about the state of the place !!!. No En-suite and we didn’t venture into the SHARED downstairs Toilet or shower room. Girlfriend was completely mortified as it was her treating me to a Birthday Treat ( Due to lack of cleanliness there was No Part 2 to the treat 😡 ). We complained after and were offered a Discount for another stay ( like that’s going to happen ! ). If we did stay overnight again it would be at the New Hotel on the seafront ( premier Inn ) as the Rooms are cleaner and comfier. That wouldn’t be when the Hotel is busy though !! As some of the customers can be iffy !!. We Love Great Yarmouth but it has gone very much downhill lately,sounds horrible and probably makes us sound like Snobby but the people are not as friendly on the front as they used to be ! Quite a lot of people drinking to much and not looking after their children properly and they can be very angry as they walk around ( barging and non-friendly ) and as we have Disabled young adults who are with us it can be a bit like running a gauntlet at times !!! Don’t get me wrong though,there are some nice people around but mainly it’s quite Chavvy. A local explained that a lot of people who used to holiday in Cleethorpes etc now come down further down the coast to get away from the Foreigners in Cleethorpes,Skegness etc !???. In Yarmouth there are a large number of Rumanian families and other immigrants who have been put up in Hotels and apparently the local crime rate has increased dramatically,you do get the impression that it’s best to keep your wallet in your front pocket and keep your hands on it as you walk around ?!!! Sad but true . In February there was someone who was stabbed and killed on the seafront and that’s never happened before in Yarmouth !!!. Lots of Locals are in fact moving away or trying to move but House prices have tumbled ( Local B+B’s are selling up 😳 ) and some of these have been around for years and years !!!. It’s the price that they are being sold for though ! Under £100K for some multi room hotels with en-suite and they aren’t selling ?!!!. Regents Road there is a Restaurant with Flat attached and they can’t get someone to Rent the restaurant in it’s entirety for just a tad more than £1000 per Month ?!!!. Yarmouth is becoming a bit dirty and dingy and the local council aren’t doing anything to clean it up ?. The Cafe in the Car Park where the people who own it are thinking about selling up and they have been there Years and Years and you can see the sadness in their possible decision ?!!. The Council needs to do something but will they ?

My Partner and I had the pleasure of staying here last year, The bed was very comfy and the the breakfast was exceptional,But don’t stay there when a wedding of function is on the staff seem to prioritise the people that are there and we had very little contact with the them ( Heres you key and this is where your room is ) Tried to thank them for a nice stay but they weren’t interested such a shame ,Personally Normally Stay at the Furzedown Hotel just down the road where Paul and his wife run an very family friendly Hotel with great rooms and are very welcoming to all who stay 👍You both might want to try a night in there 👍ps, Better Breakfast and they do great evening meals in Garrods Restaurant unfortunately no lifts for the buggy but a great stay 👍Great vlog again Tim & Gabby 👍👍

Nice place , but if your on a budget you can stay at haven seashore which is nearby and for probably what you paid for one night would get you at least four nights off peak and two on peak but that said nice place

I often stayed in Great Yarmouth in a variety of B and Bs, whilst supporting foster children to visit family. Many "interesting " places! Bit the welcome from the people in the town was always absolutely brilliant!!

Nice review. Nice hotel - quite impressed. Clean, good facilities, food looked great, customer service seemed fine, free parking. Dog friendly is a big fat NO for me, but otherwise I would be very happy to stay there.

i was in yarmouth last year, and passed here on my bikerides everyday, and thought how great it looked, seems quite pricey though but worth the money by the look of it. if you want a nice cheap 4 star hotel with a great breakfast i stayed at barons court hotel opposite the football ground, the lady owner is nice and helpful, lots of parking opposite too

Thanks for your positive view of Great Yarmouth. I’m guessing you or your wife are from the area. I was born there and have been back many times. Despite the tough time faced by seaside resorts Gt. Yarmouth has much to offer and it’s good that it gets a fair hearing. No Britannia Hotels in Yarmouth?

Very grand entrance! You have quite a few Hotels in Great Yarmouth Tim! That outside door of the lift looked hardwork I think I'd feel abit nervous about using that lift! Elephants 🐘 walking down the prom in the olden days in the photo, amazing! Loved your room Tim with the Lighthouse Wallpaper & complementary coloured Bedding! Cosy work station & not tired furniture it looks fairly new. Very nice Curtains again with the nautical theme! Good to have a safe in your room too! Very nice wet room & that hoover to dry your bits off I'd use that dry my underarms & other bits 😂 The Bar & Restaurant looked very nice & Gaby had a lovely blue dress on. Never tried Mussels they look tasty! The main meals were very well presented made me feel hungry! Desserts in your Room is a lovely treat! And to finish off the stay Breakfast on the Terrace & a great choice of Breakfast Haddock & Kippers as you say Tim all locally sourced. Love your Red Mac Tim & Gabys Pink Mac. I bet you enjoy having your Birthday in The Imperial Hotel in Great Yarmouth Tim🎉 That lift was definitely slightly dodgy tho with the crazy double door!
