27:20 i think of this as the storytelling... the extra meanings by the positioning of things. if a figure card has their back turned, etc. RELATIONSHIPS. interactions of the cards. also, *thank you very much* for going through these books. :D i was looking for one that taught some simple things to *look* for like you mentioned in your beginner deck video. like the flowers on pip cards. i want to know what to LOOK for.... and a book that mentions this. ive been reading RWS for years. basically abandoned books and such long ago. i get it by feel. maybe some decks are just more attuned for that. ive had a thoth deck forever. but the books i got are just NOT helpful to reading. and the booklet it came with was LESS so. it tells some weird little "nothing" blurb. it it entirely and completely unhelpful. and the books many times are unhelpful with with a LOT of words. it's for people that already sort of 'get' the cards and are looking to go deeper. can't expect someone with a new deck to look up and read paragraphs and pages of info for each card. it takes FOREVER. (and yes, i have done this. making notes, too.) anyway, yesterday, for the hell of it, i took my thoth deck and tried just doing intuitive readings. not really based on rider-waite system but not entirely divorced. and sometimes i would look up my impression in the keywords book and usually it was about the same meaning. ! the pip cards on the marseilles though..... lol. definitely need some tricks for those. like numerology and stuff. but i just wanna know short basics so i can *begin.* :) i'm about to actually by a grimaud deck.... the vieux monde version with the dimmer/darker colors. it's what first caught my eye to try and read a new style. :). $35 feels like a lot right now though..... but vieville fascimilie deck i ALSO like.... doesn't have names on the major arcana. (most look recognizable-ish at least) but the pips!! uuuugh the pips.... no numbers. so i may have to count. ugggh. still, of all the facsimilie decks and that are available and not $60+ dollars... i think i like it the most. helps to like your deck, as you are more likely to read and work with it. thanks again, and i hope you have a great day! :D

Hello! I totally understand what you say 'cause I've been there too. The point is that when you learn how to read the pips, the convey so much more information, that the standard Minor Arcana seem muted. As far as learning refers, what I can tell you is that you are NOT going to learn how to read the tarot with books or videos. At least it was my personal experience time ago. And my team mates here at 78 Puertas had similar experiences. The only good way to learn to read Tarot is with Courses. I know it's an unpopular opinion nowadays, but it's the only effective way to learn properly. I'm not forcing you in any way to study with us. There are many courses our there. Choose the one you like, but your understanding, comprehension and learning will get sky high. On your own, it will take much more time, and it will be more difficult. That's also the idea we want to transmit with this video. Greetings from Spain

Thank you for this expansive book review and for sharing available PDFs. Also thank you for your generosity in sharing so much knowledge with us and in such a thoughtful way. Your love and passion for the TdM is palpable and a bit contagious. I hope to enroll in your classes someday. Are there any interviews of you done by other Tarot Tubers? All best, Deb

Excellent video! 🥰 The Castle of Crossed Destinies was my introduction to Calvino’s works. Elias’ writings are always interesting. And I, too tracked down books in the bibliography. 😂❤😂 I haven’t read as much of Ben-Dov as I’d like. But I can highly recommend him from the bit I have. I absolutely LOVE Untold Tarot. And it’s easy to find, so I feel good recommending it to students. My copy has a ton of bookmarks inside too. 😄 Jodorowsky in general is a wild trip down the rabbithole, and I am here for it! 🐇 I will track this one down and read for sure. Thank you for the recommendation.
