To expand on this, not only on oil lake but all around the volcano look for pointy pillar rocks that have a glowing red color on the tip, these rocks indicate there are nearby oil rocks!

@@ComettYT I just discovered those point rocks!! I was farming obsidian and got oil and started smacking everything in sight to figure out where it came from. Most resource guides I've seen so far say oil is only underwater so I was surprised to find it here.

There is also another really good Black Pearl spot at 39-64. Theres a little alcove lake with plenty of shiny Black Pearl drops with no creatures in the water. Not even fish! Enjoy!

theres a bunch of oil in the ice wyvern scar. thats where I've been farming them. The wyverns are fairly easy to avoid, from my experience only about 3 spawn at a time and they rarely even go in the back (and when they do, they're usually high up and don't immediately aggro)

Dunno who needs to hear this but despite how scary it is if ya tame a high level icthy and some low level icthys to act as storage you can set up a base just about anywhere in the desert and dire wolves will spawn which means 1 a powerful pack tame that can boost the attack of other wolves and 2 it means you can kill the low levels and harvest their fur so that you can gain access to the snow biome and mantis also spawn in the desert so plenty of organic poly which means despite there being no obsidian in the desert you can still use the organic poly instead so chuck some preserving salts into your fabricator to keep the organic poly around longer oh and plenty of keretain thanks to the doedicirus and ankys but plenty of metal and honestly if ya know where the crystal caves are and that the brown flat mushrooms in the water like everywhere are a source of sap and fungal wood also the weird furry cuctus are a tree hybrid and it gives ya a small amount of tree sap and cactus sap I think and all the dangerous creatures can be bolad so ya can build up a collection of nets for the harpoon gun and grappling hooks since apart from the parcers and super slow rock golems theirs nothing to really fear in the desert and it beats the weird sounds ya hear when in the forest near the lighthouse it has dead island riptide levels of added ambiance like you'd swear Rockwell was under their with like animals and dinos like melded into him so it's surprisingly more survivor safety then the beach area cause carnos raptors and rexes stalk them woods oh and I'm getting ready to do the rock Drake method and use a wingsuit and climbing hooks with gilly armor to spider man along the ceiling till I find at least a 135 ice wyvern and recently tamed a level 30 snow owl to better locate a sinamacrops in the dense jungle while avoiding the troodons and microraptors honestly the desert is a crucial place to visit in lost island if ya wanna blast away at a lot of stuff from the ol to do list in game as thanks to the ankys and doedics you can farm metal and stone like crazy and the islands along the way some spawn argentavis so you do have access to early game argys and it'd inspire more scorched earth like combat as apart from the amargasaurs that only spawn in one area it's basically scorched earth minus the shit weather hell ya even have access to rare flowers/mushrooms and silk via the short purple flowers anyhoo gonna get ready to go egg hunting the next one's are gonna be the wyverns nest over in the volcanic region hence the stock piling of nets as I plan to net any wyverns that get to close when I first nab the eggs so wish me luck and hope this helped someone trynna get a good start for this map

If anyone needs lots of chitin for cementing paste all you need to do is go to swamps and there are loads of leeches that you can kill and they will drop lots of chitin and a sometimes a little oil

There is Oil on the surface. Oil pits south east of the volcano. The oil rocks are a shinier black... and at the base of the red lava pod things, there's small peak rocks that make a different sound when harvested. Those ones have slightly more oil! ✔

Any map where I don't need to farm creature drops for black pearls is a good map. Although, just at first glance it seems like this new map doesn't have quite the variety and ease of resource gathering that Crystal Isle does... which is good, element and black pearls are too easy to get on Crystal Isle.

@@timeshark8727 Nah they give you like 10 shards each talking about Official Small Tribes it's takes an hour or two to only get 100 ele when in Gen1 it takes like 30 minutes for 1K ele n ext For gen2 its a joke

@@xdevil5818 I haven't played on official for quite a while, I had no idea it was that poor. I usually get 30-80 shards per crystal. Takes me like 30 minutes to fill the inventory of my argentavis. Even so, compared to the other maps that's pretty easy element without any setup or real investment. On most maps its farming Tek dinos or bosses if you want element. I had forgotten about the lunar biome of Gen1 before.

That shallow oil spawn is where we've set up out base. Follow the shore north until you reach a basin with a stream flowing into it from the mountain on the right. Opposite that stream is a landmass with a crevice, there's a decent metal spawn in there. The shallow place with the oil has an alpha Leedsichthys in it on our ark, so be careful with your raft there. Took out our wood fortified one with 6.5k wood on board with one bite. That stream I mentioned earlier looks enticing, I followed it up and didn't find much exciting, but on the way down found out the hard way that the area is full of Troodon.

Up close to the snow and just over a peak or 2 from the volcanoes there is a lake with no fish and loads of Black pearls. Also, some silica Pearls on Desert small pond.

If you star at the mouth of the four sands or whatever its called and go up the river there is a waterfall. Repeat that step till the 3rd waterfall and behind that last taller waterfall is a cave. Good access to bugs and black pearls. Go deeper and It also goes down into the aberrant cave

Best to get metal is to get a bronto pet near like the third easy spawn option it’s a high mountain before valley and snow biom the mountain is on the side of jungle the cove you spawn in should have a couple big boulders in the middle

Ok Ik in your previous video you said they fixed the levels of Dino’s. But I’m only seeing a Max level of 112 when it’s usually 150. What do I do. I Dino wiped already.

I've felt like the high levels weren't spawning when I upped the max level to 180 and dino wiped. I downloaded the dino tracker mod that shows all dinos and checked the levels on that as I spent a near full day trying to find anything above 150! I guess that would only work if you were on PC though!

Whats your difficulty at? If its any lower than 1 you won’t get max level dinos so set it to 1 if you haven’t already.
