This is the most violent match AEW has made, but they still showed a storytelling. For the first time, Hangman came out through the "heel gate" and the camera was above him like the god is seeing him and judging his actions. Swerve came out through the face tunnel. Adam Page was wearing black and Swerve was wearing white, foreshadowing how their paths will be from now. Even after losing his title, Swerve still a final boss. The way he was taking those staples and laughing at Hangman was badass, just like his no sell at All In. However, for the first time we see Swerve being emotional in a match.

Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland is the modern day Triple H vs. The Rock according to Breaking Kayfabe and one of the reasons I love it is because of the double turn that nobody realizes happened right after their match ended. Think about it, Adam Page was the face who didn't want to go another 5 minutes with heel Swerve Strickland just so Swerve Strickland didn't have an opportunity at becoming AEW World Champion. That has to be one of the most underrated double turns in pro wrestling history and should be right next to Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns after their ambulance match which Roman Reigns lost but decided to injure Braun Strowman afterwards who walked away bleeding and refusing medical attention after Roman Reigns trapped him in the ambulance and drove it into the back of a truck, trapping Braun Strowman.

I remember when they had a match at one of the ppv's but they weren't the main event. yet they were the only match I wanted to see and the one I was most amped about, and I remember telling everyone who'd listen that even though they weren't the main event, they were MY main event😂 They were literally the only reason I was watching. I think hangman has to win the belt now. Because it all started with swerve saying hangman can’t win because he got complacent and comfortable. He didn’t have the killer instinct and now that he does it only makes sense that he ends Bryan Danielson the same guy who he’s put on banger after banger with. Now that he has the killer instinct for the world title it only makes sense he wins.

It could have been the best feud in the company history. But it isn't for me. They made a couple of missteps, mainly for me, they could have done a clear double turn with Swerve going face and Page all out heel. And while they got there eventually, it wasn't done as smoothly as it could. But it's a quality feud for sure. Even tho I ain't a Page fan lol Also, Punk vs MJF was just a bit better all round.
