The Zoom Fly has been amazing for me. I don’t know if it’s placebo or what but I’ve been setting PR after PR in them. The only thing I don’t like is the insole. It’s like paper. I’m even faster in them than my Vaporflys because my legs don’t feel like shit when I’m running in them. Awesome shoe.

I completely agree with you on the Mach 6. Love the shoe so much I bought a second pair. Used a different lacing technique by the toe to help loosen it up down there and have had no issues with tightness.

Nice to see the Rebel V4 in your top 3. I’ve just bought a 2nd pair (I couldn’t find anything else I wanted in my size at this time of year) after 850+km in my first. Really surprised how well the outsole held up, no issues with lock down, and great at all speeds. An awesome daily!

Love my Mach 6s. Agree the foam is lighter and bouncier vs Mach 4s. They put a smile on my face too 😊 I went up half a size and they fit perfectly and don’t fine the toe box at all narrow.

I agree with you. Really enjoying the Mach 6 too. I came from the ASICS superblast and much prefer the hoka for my running

Love my Mach 6’s! I tend to use them for my faster stuff as I find them very responsive and prefer more of a squidgy plodder for proper easy runs, done 300km in them and they’re as good as new. Pleased to see them getting some love.

Awsome video and excellent comments! I was in a quandary what to purchase between the Reb v4 or the Mach 6. I am going to pull the "trigger" on the Mach 6. I currently purchased the Hoka Mach X2 and they are well cushioned and are "wicked" fast. CAUTIONARY NOTE: Be careful running these shoes. They will out run your feet, even on slow runs. It's not noticeable until you check your time after your run!

Thanks for another great video Loyd, the Rebel look interesting and I’m a fan of the Heirro for light trail / road. Shame not to see the INOV8 RoadFly I’ve become a fan, love the fit and a little more ground feel.

Thanks Stuart! I’m a fan of the HIERRO as well, it’s such an easy shoe to run in on light trail. The ROADFLY feels good and I like the fit but for me I just need a bit more cushioning on the hard stuff, I’m getting soft in my old age 😂

I very much like your # 2 & 3 but as I don't like hokas and the mach6 is so narrow, that one is not for me. My current favourite is the Triumph 21

Like the NB Rebel v4 Hoka Mach 6 has very tight toe box, unless you have narrow feet With the exception of their expensive race day shoes, Nike has produced some crappy low bar daily trainers in recent years. Looks likes Nike finally produced a good shoe with the Zoom Fly 6, but based on the heel geometry, I question its lateral stability.

I really want to try the Superblast Jason, I’ve heard lots of great feedback! Unfortunately they are so expensive and I’ve run out of shoe budget for this year 😔

Loyd, would any trail shoe come to mind, that is a trail version of the NB Rebel v2? With regards to midsole feel and also the soft upper. Possibly with 4mm drop instead of 6mm?

The rebel 4 was way to wide for me narrow foot.I couldn’t make it work. But I love the Mach 6 and the zoom fly 5! Amazing shoes! I ran this morning in the ZF6, and was very surprised how fast I was, even though my legs felt very tired before the run. Also loved the Mach x2 this year and the novablast 5. You didn’t miss anything by not getting the SB2. Very overrated shoe in my opinion.

Not to speak for him, but he did address this a few times; busy schedule, workload and time to edit etc takes alot of time and some videos like the inov8 tour take alot of time. I'm being patient with it, should be great when it does arrive!

Sorry you feel disappointed!? There’s definitely going to be a CCC race video on the channel. These big race videos take a lot longer to put together, there’s a lot of work involved! Liga ran such an incredible race at the CCC I want to make sure I do it justice with the video. We are producing 3 videos a week and that obviously takes up a lot of our time so I’m working on the CCC race video in between. Unfortunately there’s only so many hours in the week to sit in front of a laptop editing but we’ll have the race video up as soon as we can 🙂

I had the Mach 4 and couldn't get on with them- firm, no energy return. And sized small so annoyingly tight at the front. Mach 6 sounds interesting if all these problems are negated.

I think the Mach 6 is a much better shoe compared to the 4’s. I’d definitely recommend going up at least half a size though Troy 👍

I didn’t say the Mach 5 was firm? I haven’t run in the Mach 5 🤷‍♂️ It was the Mach, Mach 2 and the Mach 3 I said where firm 👍

Rebel 4 is the most disappointing shoe i've ever had. Too soft lifeless and goes flat within 30 minutes on all my runs. And no i'm not heavy. It's like a shoe from 10 years ago......

Clearly you didn’t enjoy your Rebel V4’s! I’m not sure you can compare them to running shoes of 10 years ago? At 224g in a uk10, that would have been a stripped back racing flat with little cushioning back then and not a deeply cushioned training shoe 🤔

What I meant is that the foam is mostly EVA with a tiny bit of PEBA but it feels just like plain old school EVA Mach 6 on the other hand is my favourite daily of the year by a long shot.

I love the V4s and I am heavy runner at 90kg! Did a 50km road ultra this year and my feet were fine! Interested to try the zoom flys also
