💯 go that last bit. I know prices are crazy now- but my brother and cousin started a business in middle school going door to door asking to mow lawns. I worked for them on and off all thru out middle school, high school, and even college and it was a huge blessing. My brother sold out his half after high school but 20+ years later and the business is still going strong.

What Segway failed to share is that they have placed a hard limit to the map range boundaries. If you buy a 1/4 model, you can’t map past that. My lot is 1/4 plus 200feet. I can’t map my full property because of the extra 200 feet. So I have to remap and cut corners so I won’t go over the 1/4 acres. I thought maybe map two separate zones, but nope! You can’t go over at all the 1/4 total. Just another way to force you to buy a more expensive robot.
@Lauren-yq3ds4 ай бұрын

Ah bother, it was looking good until that point. Imagine Tesla selling you a Model 3 which can only go 100 miles per day and you need to pay extra for the one which does more. 1/4 acre max per day or per zone I could live with. Looks like the Mammotion Yuka wins then.

@earthling19848 ай бұрын
Does it need the base to go back to when it is done? Could you keep the base inside / garage and just keep the mower inside when it isn't mowing? Just seems better for security reasons. I know that would make it less easy to run anytime by the push of a button in the app. But, it would still be better than actually mowing. And not much different than you moving to front yard. I assume it just stops somewhere when it's done with your front yard?
@freshlycharged7 ай бұрын
In the front yard, it stops if it can’t get to the back after trying for a bit and sends me a message that it’s stuck. I keep the base in the backyard… it’s a ton easier to have it be able to go and charge on its own.

The Navimow I-series looks awesome, but why only models for 500 m2 and 800 m2? Too small... I need at least 1300 m2. Are bigger models coming? Buying the H-series now feels like buying old tech, in an area where technological development seems to happen quite rapidly.

@SeanChYT6 ай бұрын
@@freshlycharged The Luba? hell no... On paper it looks awesome, and for some people it works great, but it is not a mature product. Every software update brings with it too much drama, tears and misery. You need to 3D print your own parts and remove the guards to prevent grass buildup under the mower and have the blades spin freely. It locks up too often requiring manual supervision, and when it loses power on a hill, there is no safety mechanism to prevent it rolling down and crashing into whatever is below. You don't get that with Husqvarna and other well known (and expensive) brands. The latest issue is that several European customers have been told to stop using it immediately by the agency controlling radio frequencies (ANFR in France), as the RTK station is violating European laws on the use of the 868 Mhz frequency band. No wonder Mammotion got so good RTK signal strength, as they use more than 50 times the amount of radio bandwidth they are allowed to according to EU laws. Going on holiday or leaving the house? Don't expect it to work many days, or even a single day without having to go rescue it. Sure, some users have more luck with it than others, I am not discounting that, but for instance my next project is to set up a mower at my parent's house which is over 2 hours by car away. They are too old to maintain and troubleshoot it themselves, and there is no way my mother is picking that thing up and cleaning it on the underside. I would not be able to fix most problems remotely, as after 10 minutes of being stuck, the mower just shuts off. The IPX6 rating is also pure BS. According to Mammotions own advice, it is IPX3 at best. I really wanted the Luba 2 to be great, but there are too many red flags with it.
@SeanChYT6 ай бұрын
@@freshlycharged I am curious, why do you think people should stay away from the H series? Genuinely interested to learn more about it. Not really sure how good the vision fence system is. I suspect we'll all going to have a little bit of buyers remorse no matter what we choose, as new models with more and more impressive specs and AI features come out each year. If someone here in Northern Europe sold the Sunseeker Orion X7 that could be interesting as well. At least it's three-wheel drive.

My biggest complaint is that the repairbility of something like this robot mower is essentially 0 once the OEM goes under or even if the OEM has. dispute with Apple/Google's app store. In contrast, a 30+ year old gas mower or push mower with spinning blades can be repaired by anyone or their uncle decades after the OEM stops making parts.

For what it's worth, Amazon sells this and Asurion offers a 3 year extended warranty for $129. Seems like a no-brainer to grab that for a full 6 year warranty for something that most certainly won't last 6 years. Still, even if it lasts 4 years, $300 a year for a mowed lawn is cheap.

Im concered about these RTK based mowers if you have lawn that goes around the house. at somepoint it will lose its connection to the base station
@aglend34217 ай бұрын
RTK is not based upon line of sight from base / antenna to mower. Both the mower and antenna need to connect to satellites ( the same satellites ) RTK correction data ( which allows for greater accuracy due to use of fixed base station / antenna ) is passed from the antenna to the mower via radio signals typically 900MHZ which will pass through walls etc. The ability for both the antenna and mower to see as much of the sky as possible is much more important

i have used it and i really wanted to like this produc but there is no direct option to speak with a human for support. its really hard for person who is not a pro in tech to find a suitable location for the charging station that was able to get a good enough gps signal, even though the app showed more than a dozen sats visible for the RTK base antenna (mounted above my garage, ~6m above the ground with nearly completely open sky), and 8-9 sats for the mower itself pretty consistently. so I was never even able to create an initial map, let alone mow anything. The VSLAM that the EFLS 2.0 claims to use really should have made this a non-issue, but I now suspect that's more marketing hype than actual SLAM functionality🤣

I bought anthbot, a lawn-mowing robot, which I set up in the first few hours and then controlled from my phone. Not only does it not mess up my lawn, it doesn't stop working due to lack of gps!! By the way, if the thread you bury is accidentally broken, it can also show the exact position on the app😁😁😁
