How nice. I’m an American in my 60’s. I’m part Romanian and Russian. I would love to know how she makes stuffed cabbage. I know my great grandmother used picked cabbage she fermented in oak barrels. I have had pigs in red sauce and plain with sauerkraut. Some baked some boiled. Both sides baked or simmered in ham hawk or something close. I think fresh dill was incorporated. Nothing like good pigs in a blanket!! Beautiful country!!

Thank you for your kind video. I will try this because I love making sarmale fotr my Romanian friends, my Polish husband likes it, too, and buying sour cabbage is very expensive. Wish me luck.

Moja babcia też taką robiła. Potem w liście kapusty zawijała nadzienie z kaszy gryczanej i grzybów i podpiekała. Mniam :) Pozdrawiam Was serdecznie.

Oma verbraucht etwa 600 Gramm Pökelsalz. Das mit Kräutern und Salz vermischte Wasser sollte 5 Minuten kochen. Zuerst fügen Sie die heiße Sole (mit Kräutern gemischtes Wasser) hinzu und dann können Sie kaltes Wasser hinzufügen, bis das Fass voll ist. Ein paar Tage müssen Sie das Fass bei Raumtemperatur ruhen lassen. In dieser Zeit müssen Sie das Wasser mit etwas langem Besteck untermischen, damit der Kohl nicht schimmelt. Es ist gut, das Wasser einmal am Tag zu schütteln. Nach 3-4 Tagen muss das Fass in den Keller oder an einen kühlen, dunklen Ort gebracht werden

Yes, that's horseradish. Grandma is preserving the whole cabbage heads in order to use the leaves for Sarmale the Romanian version of Stuffed Cabbage Rolls.
