I'm surprised you recommended that motherboard. X870 boards in general but especially this one have wonky pcie lane layouts and it only has 2 pcie slots. It halves your main pcie slot to x8 when you have an ssd in the 2nd m.2 slot. And disables the second pcie slot when you have an ssd in the 4th m.2 slot. I understand pcie 5.0 x8 provides little to no performance hit versus pcie 5.0 x16 in gaming, but it's nice to have the full bandwidth available especially with a multitasking rig. In addition, I also understand that the average person won't use the second pcie slot, but I think we can both agree the average person isn't shelling out $2,200+ on a 5090 (FE models are scarce and AIBs are gonna tax lol), and $250-$300 on a motherboard. I just think for a motherboard this expensive ($300 msrp before the sale price, at $250 it is more justifiable) some of these features should be there since. Especially since a lot of the B850 boards have the same features p-lus the ones missing at the cost of the USB4 ports. I really would love your thoughts, especially on what you value the most for motherboards. Overall though, I really like this build, a 420mm AIO is a steal at $100, the case is really nice and 6 fans included is always such a steal. The monitor is one of the best valued 4k oleds out there. I have the 1440p 27in version of that same one and it's an amazing display. Iove your videos man, keep up the great work!

Yes the 7800x3d should be fine but it may still bottleneck the 5090 here and there but you can look at benchmarking videos testing the 7800x3d.

You’re more GPU bound than CPU bound at 4K So GPU matters more for more framerate at 4K

Hi, I am thinking to build a pc within a month. I am confused which gpu should i take. My focus is to play the game at 2k resolution. Should i go for 7900gre or should i wait for nvidia 5070 as the nvidia 5070 will come with a 12gb vram where the GRE has 16gb. Should I concern about the vram or not for upcoming future AAA games. Great video, not sure if you need the 9800X3D for gaming at 4K. 7800X3D, 9700X,14900K, 13900K, or even the new Arrow Lake CPUs will be fine; 265K, 285K. At that resolution you'll be GPU bound.

You can build a 5090 pc for cheaper then 4,000 dollars but with accessories and a monitor or tv can go past 4,000 dollars.
