Running Shoe Rotation SUMMER SPEED 2024 - welcome back to another video and today I am sharing with you my running shoe rotation for my summer speed 2024 training block? are these the best running shoes of 2024? Well I have to admit that this could be one of my best rotations so far! All of these running shoes are fantastic and work so well for me.

Like this rotation. I definitely try and avoid plated shoes so my legs get the work in and also avoid injury risk not to mention price!

Great rotation. Puma deviate nitro 2, Asics Superblast and Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 are my favourites.

I have been trying to replace my plated (carbon or not) shoes in some of my workout and I do in fact feel the difference. For example, I was doing all my tempo/speed work in the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 2 (which I absolutely love for that!!) with the Rebel v4. So I will try to keep my shoe rotation in the summer between the Saucony T20 and the Rebel v4 and only use the Endorphin Pro 3 for the races. I would love to try the Mach 6 but I'm not sure I can justify buying those for now. I don't think there's a clear gain in adding those to my current rotation...

My guess on the calf discomfort it was the AF V1, that 4mm drop really works the calves. I limit my use in my 200km pair of AF V1's now to shorter harder sessions only now. And use the AF V2 for long runs with goal pace injection. AF V3 is my race shoe of choice for Half/Full, and at 120km will still be my race shoe of choice in my Fall A race Half marathon sub 90min attempt, and my marathon shoe at Chicago 3 weeks later! And fingers crossed...I retire my AF V3 proto at Boston 2025 (BQ -8:36mins hoping that makes the cutoff)

Yeah that was my suspicion too, I will do some more isolated testing though, as never had calf issues with them before... glad you are enjoying the AF3, I am excited to give them a go at a race soon!

Every reviewer seems to ignore the Saucony Axon 3 which is a cheap yet great shoe. Everything I hoped the Mach 6 would be (but wasn’t, sent them back). Put in the pwrrun+ insole from the Ride for extra comfort!

⁠@@Manuel-901that’s right but it’s great if you want a low drop, cushioned daily running shoe for good paced runs (not recovery runs). Did a hilly 16 miler in them averaging 4:45/km which is the same or slightly quicker than my Ride 15. It certainly felt a bit easier due to the rocker. But yes, I would not use it for intervals but neither would I use my Rides!
