Easiest way to open a stubborn jar is slip a butter knife under the lid, slight twist and allow air in.

German wife, Cajun husband. I bet y'all have had some great arguments over the years, followed by some really great making up afterward! My German(ish) wife and I have loved pork chops and kraut for many years. Adding the potatoes gives a huge nudge toward my Irish lineage. Bravo, great video!

I just read a guy put in 1/2 can of beer (Coors Lite)...drank other half. Heck with water! Toss in tators & use crockpot. Yum..with ribs, etc too!

My German Dad often made pork braised in sauerKraut when we were kids, I have been looking for a recipe that looks like his, yours looks really close except maybe even better! We are so going to make this! Klaus

Buy a rubber piece of round thin rubber it opens jars up very easy…we’re in our late 60s and it helps a lot

That looks and sounds amazing, I will try it like this with the potatoes 🥔, plus I run hot water over my jar lids and they open great, a man told me to do that 😉

I just want to say that I commend you for making your own cooking channel. Way to go!!! I noticed you only have one video out since May of 2020. Did you quit or are you going to continue cooking here on KZbin? Folks our age should do more of this!!

Why didn't you brown the meat first? Will it cause it to dry out if you do, browning adds so much to the flavor I thought?
@erichimes30622 жыл бұрын
I follow his recipe, but I browned the pork chops in bacon fat first.

Horrible. Chops cooked at high heat in a steel pan or under a broiler and set aside until the kraut is done. You dont know that?
