I've got an SKXA35 and absolutely love it and I'm finally picking up a 173 tomorrow. Easier watch to match up and daily, considered a 007 but the square markers are so much cleaner. I appreciate and respect the passion and sentiment you clearly have for the hobby and these particular watches, something about you reminiscing about the SKX and sharing those experiences with your brother kind of hit me in a way. I love sharing my hobbies with my little bro and it's the little things that matter, something as simple as a $250 watch could create those special moments and memories. Anyway, thanks for the video :)

I bought a 173 from the US Military Academy PX in 2010 and put it in a drawer after a month of wear. I pulled it out today and strapped it to my wrist - still looks brand new... I think I'll wear it for a bit.

Great to have that connection with your brother with watches. I presume it was an 'A' ... 7s26a movement in this one? Look forward to the finished result. 👍⌚😎

tunokies Yes, the love of watches is a very cool connection I have with my brother. We talk almost daily about them. 😁 And yes the movement was an ‘A’. Thanks for watching. 👍🏻⌚️😎

Great video. I also have one from '98, my first diver. It's my go to watch when I travel, a true workhorse. I've never serviced it though since it's never given me a problem. Should I?

Yes because the lubricants have dried up by now and the gaskets are probably bad and need replacing. It’s just like anything mechanical you have to maintain it or it will wear out.
