Great suggestion with the 5.11 brand! I got the 5.11 6x6 tactical padded pouch and added straps to it. It works great as a shoulder bag and looks rather techy. I also have a very techy looking backpack (Chrome URBAN EX ROLLTOP 18L) with modular straps and the pouch fits perfectly on it. And it was only It was only US$25!

Hey! So I've actually had that Alphamotif bag since around mid-July. I've really been digging it so far. At max capacity I've had a power brick + iphone cable and wallet in the front compartment, and a phone in the back pocket. It's never seen cumbersome ever and it's been a great addition to my collection - especially in the summer where you really can't do a lot of layering. I will say the $100 price point was kind of steep, but I have been getting great use out of it.

Sling Bags are just a mini backpack. It also reminds me of the fanny pack which was a trend in the 1980 - 90's it is still recently popular..

Oooh, that Nemen piece, but OUCH that price tag. I'm really happy with the Cote & Ciel 'Isarau'. The fold over origami style doubles the capacity, preventing it from looking bulky when you're carrying less. I can fit a shell jacket and A5 books in there, as well as my purse and a load of make up (that essential techgirl kit!) Its water resistance is good, and it's been through a machine wash cycle and still looks brand new. It was a little pricey at $200, but I wear it every other day, and it looks great with futuristic tech looks, gym gear and more sedate 'grey man' ('grey woman'?) looks. Only criticism is that the adjusting the strap to switch to bumbag/fannypack mode is a bit fiddly.

Deco Code came here to recommend this brand’s sling as well. I don’t have the Isarau but will likely add one to my closet when my drawstring bag gives up. Having used an Isar bag from them daily for the past 4ish years, I’ve been very happy with the design and build quality. One of the material options is also currently on sale for ~$150 as well.

the Isarau looks really nice. I ran their Riss for a while and had good results, not so good with the Meuse backpack, which was really uncomfortable.

I have the Cote&Ciel Riss, which is a larger Isarau, and I wish I'd bought the Isarau instead. The Riss looks great, but because of its size, it's too easy to load up, which makes the thin strap dig into your shoulder. Also, the shape of the folded compartment doesnt end itself to carrying thicker items like a small DSLR or mirrorless camera. It's fine for flat things, but not really for a water bottle, camera, etc.

Definitely the GG bag is my favorite from your list. Also a recommendation: might wanna check out the Keep Pursuing sling bag. Looks similar size to the atom sling, and the styling or versatile enough to not limit it to just techwear, IMO. Sadly don’t have one in hand, somehow found out about it a while ago.

I was looking for a techwear bag and found an internet shop with any military stuff for hunters, airsoft players, military etc. So I just bought a nice looking black tactical bag by TrueGuard. I mean if you wanna buy a cool techwear bag or even an accessories like a belt or smth you should just look for a same site in your country. In Ukraine it cost like 30 dollars (821 UAH).

I was going to purchase the Patagonia sling bag one when you featured it before but I found out that they removed the 3-point sling function - needless to say, that discovery made me cry rigorously, I spontaneously shart myself rather vigorously. Oh well, at least I can use the money that I had saved for that bag to purchase a new batch of tech adult diapers. I suppose I'm gonna have to stick with my rather affordable anti-theft sling bag and somehow DIY a stabilizer strap to it.

A bit late to comment but just want to point out that it's not a good idea to use sling or shoulder bag for carrying heavy stuff resting on one shoulder, for obvious reasons.

A word on the Patagonia : I believe the newest versions have a bigger front pocket on the sling, so you can actually fit a phone in there. Also, if you want the third strap back, it's an easy DIY.
