To name just a few: Feetures socks are pretty awesome, they have a very snug, yet comfy fit and stay miraculously dry at any weather condition. The „RU5“ by Falke are super thin, lightweight and breathable with some minimal cushioning, they pair well with light shoes like the Rebel V2 - I love to feel the air at my toes while running. The Asics „Ultra Comfort“ are great every day socks with a good balance between breathability and cushioning. La Sportivas „Fast“ and „Sky“ are very light, yet very robust (and kinda pretty). The thing is: certain socks often work best with certain shoes, so it can be a bit of a rabbit hole... 🐰

TBH I have looked at many sick brands but since starting running 4 years ago, I have always used basic Kalenji socks from Decathlon and Karrimor padded socks from Sports Direct. They have been amazing, never any blisters and last pretty well for price. Recent changes in Kalenji mean that they don't seem to fit quite as well and I got blisters on the ends of my middle toes at London Marathon though I had also changed shoe brand so maybe the combination wasn't so good (or shoes were a little too small).

I always use full lenght compression socks; because if I dont I'll get shinsplints like crazy. On the few occasions I do run without compression I never really paid any attention to what sock I was wearing. I have a few Newbody socks; some Pro Touch and I may even have a pair of Puma. And I have also worn regular merinowool socks. I might see if any of those socks sell in Sweden; because full lenght compression socks is a workout in it self just to get on your foot; especially the ones from 2XU that I use. Not what you need if you're just doing a slow 5K.
