When it's played in an orchestra it's a violin. When it's played in the south it's a fiddle. Let's take Billy to a juke joint!

(it's actually how it's played that makes it a violin or a fiddle, not so much where).

YES, ALABAMA. MORE ALABAMA, ALABAMA has 40 number 1hits. 20 were straight in a row. No one else in the music industry ever did that. I have listened to them since I was a freshman in high school a long ago. I've been to more than 50 ALABAMA concerts. You should have watched the live version.

Alabama is considered the most successful country band in history and one of the most successful bands of all time, they have more golden records than literally anyone, 20 of them were in a row, everything they touch turns to gold.

I saw Alabama in concert at keast 3x. I was a young teenager at the time. At one concert, I kissed the drummer, Mark Herndon, on the mouth! He seemed surprised that I did. I also kissed Randy and Jeff, but not Teddy. 😆

I've listened to Alabama since I was old enough to talk. My sister had the "Roll On" cassette back in the day. I bought tickets to take my wife to see them in concert last August and covid hit. It was rescheduled to December and covid was still here and now it's been canceled. Sad day. Still going to see if I can get to one when things return to "normal".

The best concert I ever attended was in 1983 in my Hometown of Wilmington, NC. It was the Azalea Festival and the young and up and coming Group Alabama was the warm up act for Hank Williams JR. So a future Country Music Hall of Fame group opened up for a future Country Music Hall of Fame Singer.

When we were stationed at Fort Polk Louisiana our children were very young. They used to love singing "Red River" when we crossed the Red River on our way to Alexandria. My husband and I have wonderful memories attached to almost every Alabama song; they are really hard to beat! "If It Ain't Dixie" is an absolutely wonderful song and DH will still sing "Close Enough To Perfect" to me when I'm having a bad day.

There’s a reason they don’t miss. Back in the day during an interview, one of the band members stated that they would go through about 10,000 songs to create an album. 10,000 songs. Theirs and from aspiring writers. That is why their albums are chock full of hits. They take the time to put out an album of such high standards that todays music artists would and are envious of.
