Alabama are GOAT! About 15 years ago my sis and I were headed to a family reunion in Florida and we had our 4 kids crammed in the back of the vehicle. We played Alabama all the way down there and all the way back, singing at the top of our lungs. We told the kids “y’all are about to get schooled, so absorb all this greatness” 🎼🤣❤️

Plus, my hometown in Georgia is almost parallel to 3 members of Alabama's hometown of Fort Payne, Alabama. I have been there few times because of a lake named Lake Weiss for swimming. I heard Randy and others of the band do visit my hometown of Summerville, Georgia occasionally.

To say Alabama was big when I was in high school is a big understatement. So many of their songs, including this one, was used at many schools' dances and request lines. With the exception of their drummer the members of Alabama are all cousins. Lead guitarist and fiddle player Jeff Cook (guy with the double guitar) passed away a couple of years ago. I saw them back in 1984 and they were amazing. One of the best concerts I have ever attended.

The best concert I ever attended was when I was 19 years old in 1983. It was a concert at my college in my Hometown of Wilmington, NC. It was for the North Carolina Azalea Festival. I was working as student security only a few feet from the stage. A young and up and coming group Alabama was the opening act for Hank Williams JR. Both acts eventually were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
