Great video! I always tell my students to learn some Chinese songs, but more importantly learn to read the lyrics with the right tones since songs only teach us the phonetic aspect, and not the tonal aspect of each word. It's also a good way to learn some expressions and basic grammar + sentence structures.

Knowing what the characters look like originally can help remember them. I’ve spent about 100,000 hours studying English humor and Western culture, and many years studying Chinese culture and jokes.
