Neil, awesome job on the video! I’m rigging up my FX3 with the XLR handle and the small rig cage and small rig v mount. The smallrig v mount is a game changer and I’m super happy I bought it. I’m not a pro so my work flow is all personal projects. I don’t have the Ninja but a 5” Feelworld monitor. It works fine and maybe someday I’ll pick up the Ninja. I picked up lots of great tips from your video. Well done and thank you!

Thank you so much for the kind words ! I sincerely appreciate them and you checking out the video. Sounds like you’re going to have an awesome rig yourself ! The ninja is definitely a good piece of kit, especially for the FX3 and being able to shoot into the ninja ProRes Raw. If that’s something you’d like to do. But the internal recording codecs of the FX3 are fantastic as well.

That cage is arca swiss. I just slide that right to the vmount clamp and lowers the camera. With the mate box it should prevent tipping👍🏽. Great build tho!

You are an excellent teacher, my plan is to watch all of your KZbin’s, you speak slowly enough for me to absorb all that you teach, thank you 😊 Neil.

Good video but I would use Zone AF instead of face AF so this way you and the camera are in focus. Thanks

Hey bro! You can mount the camera without the plate for the v-mount sliding plate! The cage has the same arca type base! 😊

I think your Smallrig v-mount battery rig will mount directly to the Arca-Swiss mount that’s made into your cage without needing the mounting plate. It only slides in from one side, though.

@@neilfullframe Glad it was helpful. I got pretty excited when I found out mine could connect directly. Frees up the plate for another camera! 😃

That was one of the requirements for my baseplate, when I was coming up with the concept for my setup. I wanted to keep overall height to a minimum. Thanks for the video! Keep them coming bro

I'm new to rigging out camera's and i could really use some help. I have the FX30, Sony ECM-B1M shotgun mic and the Sigma 18-50mm. I want to add a monitor and a battery and i have no clue how to do it. Any other recommended accesoires for my setup are also welcome. If its possible i would like to keeo it budget friendly

Nice ! Question: how is that lens ? Sharp ? Also, that monitor dummy battery / cable insert: Does it fit only to Ninja or can it be used with any other monitor of different brand ? Thank you!
@neilfullframe Жыл бұрын
The lens stays on my camera, super sharp and AF is great too! The dummy battery is just an NPF to D-Tap and yes It can be used with any monitor that accepts NPF. But I would double check the voltage input of your monitor that it will accept and what the adapter puts out. As to not cause any power issues. Thank you for checking out the video :)

Thanks for sharing Neil. I am going with this same rig for my fx3. my problem is how do you balance the rig when you put it down? looks like the front is heavier than the back if you rest it so the matte box touches the ground.
@neilfullframe Жыл бұрын
Good question! It has to be properly balanced and weighed. But with a dummy battery on the monitor it usually can sit up right. It's just one of the those things you have to play around with for balancing.

I would recommend the Sony ZVE-10 as a great starter camera 📷

What is the baseplate at the very beginning of the video that the rig is sitting on? It looks like it levels out the rig completely while it’s sitting.
@neilfullframe Жыл бұрын
It's just a standard manfrotto style tripod plate on the very bottom. :)

Get a wireless shutgun microphone like Comica Wm30. Much better for your rig
@neilfullframe Жыл бұрын
I actually ended up going with a Deity D4 Mic on board on the camera. But yes the Comica is a great option. Thanks for checking out the video.

Why you guys always act like full frame sensors are the be all end all for filmmaking? Super 35 (apsc) sensors are what most famous movies are shot with. Crop sensors are standard for filmmaking. The full frame mania is a photography thing.

I think most KZbinrs go crazy over it because they’re just assuming most people watching don’t have lighting and other equipment.
