Why not put a translucent roof on top soes that it keeps the snow off of the ice and also to let more light in even with snow on top it's better to be bright white than a dark ceiling under lots of shade. Would that work, constantly wetting the ice? Or would the ice stay frozen longer as its out of sunlight?
