I bought this square over a month ago. I've been using it daily and it's great. Everyone saying it's not square I must of gotten lucky, mine is perfect!

Junk. The point of a speed square is for it to be one solid piece that'll always be square and consistent. That hinge will wear and eventually throw off the squareness.

Not all are defective. Have you dropped yours ? It could be from manufacturer though, in wich case you can replace it for free. They are lifetime warranty.

Mine has served me wll for this past year of doing concrete. If anything the hinge has gotten stiffer and squeaks. Still holds true, I flip it periodically to check the extension and it's still as good as the day I bought it.

I got one of these about a year ago. I’ve been using it every day and keep it in my pouches all the time. I have dropped it a couple times and it hasn’t bent. It is still nice and square. I find it handy to occasionally have that extension fold out. If I’m going to be marking a lot of wider boards i’ll go get my framing square.

I bought this square a while back and after reading the comments I have to agree. After a while it becomes defective especially if you drop it. It happened to me a couple of time while scribing line they were completely off. With that being said, I think is a great idea having the Foldable piece in your square it just need to be improved.

Yep I agree once he flipped that out it sure did not look Square to me. A speed square is supposed to be fast pull it out make your mark put it back in your bags. I wouldn't buy this
