Spider-Man No Way Home is finally out, so I decided to go back through the Spider-Man movies and review each era of Spider-Man. We've now finally made it to Spider-Man No Way Home, and I loved the movie. There's a lot of excitement around the future of Tom Holland's Peter Parker. Yeah people don't mention the Tobey is super nice when he interacts with fans and normal people. I get that he had his drinking/poker era and that that's not a great reflection of who he is now and I get that he gets angry at the paparazzi but it's nice to see somebody actually mentioning this. I think people just think that because he did some rude things when he was drunk and that because he got mad at legalized stalkers he's a bad person or mean. Doesn't seem like it could be further from the truth from what I actually know about him.

@@DegenerateJay I agree man, I mean who wouldn't be mad for example that video of him in the car, there's like 2 dozen cameras with flashes all pointing at him. He legit can't see the road but no that picture the paparazzi are taking is more inportant. He's been in this business for a long time and he's just tired of them. As for his problems in the past, I never really judged him for it. People make bad decisions all the time, especially when money is involved. That doesn't make him a bad person like people pointed him out to be. He's only human like us, and he is living with his decisions. Like he said to Doc Ock in the movie "Trying to do better" to me it wasn't only a reference to their first meet. It felt like it was a message to us that he's trying to be a better person. He'll always be my childhood hero man, no matter what the media says, because I believe if you sat down in a room with him without the cameras and the media, you'd have a grand time just talking to him, telling jokes etc.

I loved it. I honestly enjoyed it even more than Into The Spider-Verse. I'm not saying it's better just had way more connection to the characters so seeing the team up was more impactful for me here.

Yeah I really like into the spider verse but I do care much more about these characters meeting than those characters because I actually have an emotional investment in these ones and had watched a lot of history with all of them. That Spider verse was able to do the same thing without multiple movies backing it which is impressive but in terms of character connections I cared much more about this.

My only issue is the post credit scene with Eddie and venom as Eddie was disappearing a piece of venom was left even though it still should have disappeared since venom is apart of Eddie no excuses because if it was left in the MCU that would mean Doctor strange spell doesn't work as much as it should have which would be a plot hole that wouldn't make any sense.

That's actually very interesting and I hadn't thought about that too closely. The writers did comment recently that they were going for a more broad strokes approach with the spell, and that they might fill in the blanks more later on. I do think that they've left some avenues open for the return of Zendaya's MJ etc. For example, there was ZERO reason to introduce Ned and have him be Ned if they don't eventually do Hobgoblin, so I think we will at some point see the characters return, but I have no idea if it will actually happen. It's also possible that it was sloppily written due to their broad strokes approach and that they'll make up something later on to cover their butts so it's purposely vague. Even the symbiote being there is odd since it means that the symbiote at one point in time has met Spider-Man and either been on him or that a different symbiote in the hivemind has been to a different reality where it was on and discovered the identity of Peter Parker... which is possible with the multiverse and I suppose technically the multiverse is infinite... but it seems like they sort of pulled that out of nowhere. I'm wondering if they're trying to say that this multiverse is as expansive as the comics one. It doesn't at all seem like it's supposed to be the same multiverse as in the comics but it works in many similar ways with similar ideas. TLDR - it's extremely complicated when we start going down that road now that I'm thinking about it out loud.

this movie adressed my biggest gripe with Tom's spider-man is that he really didn't go thru any tragedies (besides losing tony, which was a loss for all the avengers not just specific to him) because what spider-man is to me is that no matter how bad things are or how far he skews away from his path he always finds his way back on the route to do the right thing. Tobey had to fight one of the men he looked up to the most and served as a father figure seeing as he was his best friends dad. And i don't think we need to harp on what Andrew lost, and after Tom losing everything its a nice way to complete this arc for his character Edit: I also feel like based on what loki establishes as messy as it is all those characters get returned to branch timelines except tobey and andrew, i think they would arrive in the same timeline they were taken from

I left Far From Home disappointed and worried for the future of Spider-Man movies. I left No Way Home in tears and more excited than ever for the future of Spidey on film. For me, this is the one I’ve been waiting for. I really like Homecoming, disliked Far From Home, but LOVE No Way Home. This movie understands Spider-Man and fixes many issues I’ve had with this iteration. There’s a lot more maturity and sincerity in this one that I had been begging for. It’s not a perfect movie (lizard serves zero purpose and Sandman’s turn makes zero sense), but the stuff they needed to get right was done right. The movie becomes literal perfection the moment the villains enter Happy’s apartment. Finally, Tom’s Spider-Man has memorable, heavy, and well-crafted action scenes. Finally, the score is more operatic and epic and they remembered to include Andrew’s and Tobey’s respective themes. Finally, Tom has been able to fully showcase his ability as an actor in a Spider-Man movie. Finally, an MCU Spidey movie that truly understands the themes of sacrifice, consequences, and responsibility.

I absolutely loved this movie, this is definitely the perfect Spiderverse movie and probably my favourite MCU Spider-Man movie. It may just be me but this movie didn't feel like a typical MCU movie unlike Homecoming and Far From Home, despite both of those movies being really good. What I'm trying to say is that you could watch this movie as a huge Spider-Man fan. Spider-Man No Way Home, just like The Mandalorian Season 2, handles the fan service perfectly well and most if not all of the characters that appeared in the movie played their purpose. The movie acts as a perfect conclusion to the Home Trilogy in which Tom Holland's Spider-Man made mistakes and has learned from those mistakes in order to become an adult and he realizes that he doesn't need help anymore and its a perfect way of ending this trilogy and hinting at where this Spider-Man can go in the future. This movie also serves as the perfect conclusion for Tobey's Spidey and Andrew's Spidey as well as their villains in which, like you just mentioned, they get their redemption and we saw them as victims in the past movies and its the responsibility of Spider-Man to help the people because that is who he is. This movie is the perfect love letter to Spider-Man and the perfect uniting of every Spider-Man fan to a point where everyone, including myself, would love for Spider-Man 4 and The Amazing Spider-Man 3 to be made.

if the movie is one of the best movies of all time, I’d probably say it is almost 100% guaranteed to be the best Spider-Man movie. Spider-Man 2 is also a top movie of all time so that’s up for debate but NWH is easily better IMO

I'm not hating on you but I don't really get some of the stuff I've seen with this movie. For years the general fandom was begging for Spidey to join the MCU. Since he did, any time he teams up with anyone or appears in someone else's movie or someone appears in his, or even here, where some people are now saying it's too focused on it's event crossover, there's a group that's disappointed or at least unimpressed with that. I get that no movie can make everyone happy, but what did the people who left this and didn't enjoy it actually want to see? I guess that's what I'm wondering.

i still believe that spider-verse is a better movie, mostly because you can fully enjoy that movie as someone who isn't even a spider-man fan. as much as i like no way home, it really wouldn't be nearly as fun if i hadn't seen all 7 other spider-man movies. with that being said, as someone who *has*, its genuinely so good. they knew exactly which villains we wanted to see and didn't really waste time with the others.

No I totally get that and to be honest I probably agree. Spider-Verse was able to pull off the same concept with no buildup. The thing is though, because of that buildup, I had way more emotional connection to every version of the character in no way home than I did in spider verse personally. So it's like an event movie. I mean if you watch Infinity War and you never saw anything in the MCU I highly doubt it matters that much to you right? It's kind of an issue with connected universes and sequels in general is that you're expected to go in watching the first one. But I don't really mind that at all either so it just kind of is like a different strokes for different blokes type thing I think at times.

It’s great but it definitely needed more time. The CG needed more work, continuity errors and plotholes needed to be looked at more closely, etc. It’s my seventh favorite Spidey movie. And in my opinion Into the Spider-Verse is the better and more interesting multiverse movie.

I've seen a few people say this but I never really thought the CGI looked bad at all. Granted, I don't think the iron spider suit has necessarily ever looked super real but neither did the Iron Man suits and for the most part nobody talks about that.

As Tom said, this is a celebration of the spider man films so technically you cannot enjoy this if you haven't watch sam raimi, tasm and mcu stories. Also this film is an ending to a trillogy therefor you should be an existing fan to enjoy this and it is meant to be like that. That is my take on "oh this is not good because if youre not a spidey fan you cannot enjoy this". It is unfair to compare it to spider verse as it is made for different context. But I do recognize that its hard to get into the holland trillogy because it is deep into the mcu plus people not having time to watch all movies.

I'll love it if venom would come back in the 4th Spiderman because if u remember venom said he had like an infinite amount of knowledge or something before he got teleported and venom knew that Peter is Spiderman which I think they share memories with other venoms like from Spiderman 3 maybe so he'll like try to do something to get to Tom again when this new venom is like killing him I think that'll be cool

IronMan is up there I want to give it a one because it started it all, and watching again and again, the performance by RDJ is great! Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, Captain America: both Winter Soldier, Civil War, Doctor Strange I 🥰(generic maybe) but Spider-Man: No Way Home had more stakes and weight to it. Guardians of the Galaxy. 2nd favorites: I liked Age of Ultron wasn’t bad because of the birth of Vision, Ant-Man, Spiderman: Far from Home I liked the scene with the illusions before getting hit by the train. Sony Amazing Spiderman I want to say I liked his first costume, it was just so awesome looking. Very Retro if I’m using that right but a mix old and new.

Yeah I usually don't criticize this type of stuff but I'm kind of starting to think that was there literally just to sell toys. I know that happens all the time but it's not usually that noticeable to me, I don't think I'm as hard to please as some people are, but it just kind of popped up out of nowhere and then was gone immediately. What do you think it had like 10 minutes of screen time? Maybe it had a little more than that but it was basically just used when he went after a couple of people and then it's gone.

I loved this movie. One thing I should mention to you is the pointing bit they did in the school science lab. Also, I genuinely hope they don't make another Spider-Man movie for Garfield or Maguire. I get that sounds absurd, but if Marc Webb isn't brought back with absolute control over the project (same thing with Sam Raimi), then there was no point in making them. Other than to give more money to Sony for half-baked Spider-Men stories

The movie was okay. I really liked the character arc for Tom and Andrew Garfield but that's about it. Tobey's performance was phoned in, the fight scenes and web swinging were bland (except for Tom vs goblin mid way through the movie) and Peter's choices didn't feel justified even if they're supposed to be flawed. I liked the ending as well, but I see the movie being so much better if they had a different director and less focus on the college stuff.

I loved the movie. My biggest gripe is that the writers seemed to not care one bit about the Lizard, and made him way lamer than he is in TASM. Some of the dialogue was forced too. Didn't like the word for word requotes of the old movies ('I'm something of a scientist myself' etc) or the villain interactions in the Dr. Strange's basement where every line is one villain making the other seem ridiculous. But those are my only two criticisms. That's it. Everything else was absolutely amazing.

Even if I ignore all the issues I have with NWH, it's still the most overrated movie I've ever seen.
