Hey Cookiegod! Geminitay just recently started a Skyblock series... and from it I remember that you can use your gravel to make more dirt. Mix the gravel with dirt to create coarse dirt and use the hoe on it to get more dirt. PS: Build some walls/fences around your main platform (the one with the block) so that you can let your dogs loose against mobs!

Yeah Loony is one of the exceptions - if you don't want to watch the vids at least look at the thumbnails. He's placed well over 500k snow blocks and the whole thing is spawn proofed with double snow layers. It's nuts.
